I thought the recent series of mid-morning matters was by far the best thing he's done for years apart from the Trip.

Scissored Isle was quite poor - about on a par as 'Places of my life' or whatever it was called). It all seemed a bit rushed. I stayed at my mate's house at the weekend and a group of lads were watching it and pissing themselves laughing - to be fair it was funnier than I'd remembered it but still a bit contrived. There were some good ideas that were poorly executed and once or twice there were old jokes from previous series repeated.

I think it shows Partridge is just hit and miss these days - the lack of Ianucci doesn't necessarily kill it dead, but it takes away some of the more absurd elements of Alan and I imagine a degree of perfectionism.

Anybody watch the Documentary on BBC2 last night?

I thought it was brilliant, loads of behind the scenes footage from the 90s & interviews with those involved.

The World Cup sketch still makes me piss myself every time I watch it as well, sheer genius, "...and another."

Yeah was a great hours worth of telly. Looking forward to the new series later in the year.
