Because they are by far the best team in the league and have 60% possession on avg. They played a winger Vasquez at RB for loads of games. If Trent joins them he will end up playing as a fullback. If he was the great midfielder people in the press etc keep saying he is you'd think Klopp would have moved him there, especially when we needed a overhaul last summer.

They have a better defensive record than the most defensive team in the league. And they're managed by an outstanding Italian coach.

Real Madrid are committed to signing Mbappe and Endrick this summer, I’d be surprised if there will be much money left to sign anyone else. Mbappe is getting a €120m signing on fee, and Endrick is apparently costing them €60m.

They can get him on a bosman in a year.

Alphonso Davies of Bayern is supposed to be their priority that summer, but he too would be on a Bosman so it’s probably not impossible they could do both transfers.

Trent is a fantastic player, but I have a feeling he would regret moving there, I don’t think he would play all that often. Their spoilt twat fans certainly wouldn’t appreciate him the way we do.

Diaz' dad is gagging for Spain. Another choice quote from him. It's quite funny.

You'd think after the support the club has given to him and his family (which was of course the right thing to do) he'd have a bit more respect for us and frankly class than to go begging in the media for another club to sign his lad.

All this talk for a move to a club that very likely can't afford him without sending us one of the top kids in return.

It was widely reported that Chelsea agreed a fee with Dortmund for Haaland 12 months before he joined City but the move broke down because of excessive wage demands.

Well then those reports and those who reported it were absolutely clueless.

That all may be true, but I find it surprising we haven't nailed him down to a contract already. With the age of vvd and Salah, combined with their wage, I can see why we'd wait till the new leadership team was in place to sort it. It makes no sense with Trent. If he wants to stay, surely there's a deal to be done.

He had a release clause didn't he, so there was no fee to be agreed?

Is Diaz senior still living in England and his mam back in Columbia? If that's the case it's a no brainer the family would prefer to be somewhere they understand the language.

What’s the modern equivalent of a 23 year old Suarez? Get him. And while we’re at it, a 23 year old Sadio equivalent would be boss too.

Pace, aggression, outrageous skill and shitloads of goals, basically. That’s not too much to ask, surely?

Chelsea agreed a deal the year before his release clause became active. They offered Dortmund significantly more than the release clause but couldn't meet the insane wage demands and agents fees. When this deal fell through they signed Lukaku instead.

Oh ok..that just sounds mental anyway. It seems clear his whole path from salzburg to Dortmund with that release clause was to get his insane wages.

Exactly. When Chelsea are saying "too rich for our blood" you know it's pricey.

City are hiding most of what they pay. Wouldn't be surprised if Haaland and Bruyne are on closer to Mbappe.

Their accountants are so good, they probably have it so your local checkout girl in Tescos is on more money than haaland and de bruyne

Isn't the big Grok reputably to be on a million a week,  obviously most of it  paid off the books by some consultancy role via Abu Dhabi fc

Chelsea backed out at £750k a week, so the idea he accepted £300k at City is laughable
