Pawson gave both Young and Konate one freebie after their first yellow. Young kicked the ball away from a throw-in, whereas Konate got hooked before he could in effect get that third yellow. They were all harsh by old-school standards, but I'm not having that they were inconsistent.

Exactly, but the important thing for supporters of other teams is that we've now somehow been made whole for the Spurs fiasco and will now get every decision from here on in.

Get ready for the ‘officials helping Liverpool to make up for VAR error’ commentary.

Exactly what the presenter said on 5live - unconscious bias towards Liverpool because of the spurs game. The only things wrong were Konate should have gone and we should have had a pen for the Diaz foul

Perfect result for Everton. Get beaten and have a refereeing performance to complain about for decades

It was also one of the most baffling commentaries I've ever heard.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a BT/TNT Sport match where they haven’t made out we were fortunate to win, and all the refereeing decisions were controversial and in our favour. Darren Fletcher is the consistent denominator (ably assisted by Jenas and McManaman), but he even dragged the usually fair minded McCoist into it today.

They never seem to mention the unconscious bias against Mo Salah that the stats show clear as day he's officiated to a completely different set of rules than everybody else.

A 2-0 win in the derby, top of the league and two Salah goals.

Whats not to like?

Im off to the pub.

You forgot to mention that it was highly controversial and the powers that be conspired to shaft the school of science yet again, keeping them in the doldrums.

A very boring game, surprisingly. I think Konate was lucky but only because of the ‘I’ve seen them given’ rule. Don’t understand the fume over the penalty, it was blatant, his arms was out like a wing, the dick. The commentary was absolutely shite, possibly the worst I’ve had the misfortune to hear, and it’s rare to find commentary that’s any good in the first place.  Anyway, fuck em, up the Reds!
