Two draws and two losses last four games he didn’t start.

Worried about the rest of the season now.

His injury has put us on a knife edge.

We have no mix and match options left.

Wij, Milner and Henderson are it.....and they’re tired.

Another reading of the stats: 0-0 when he went off in the first Roma game, and we were 5-0 up about 40 minutes later after Wijnaldum replaced him.

He’s a good footballer, but it’s fatigue and a lack of quality replacements on the bench that’s killing us at the moment.

He was one of our best players when he got injured. His performance against Bournemouth was probably the finest performance from our midfield I’ve witnessed since Steven Gerrard’s days. He also outperformed De Bruyne and Silva at Anfield; two of the best midfielders in the world this season. Our top 4 spot would’ve been safe if he hadn’t got injured IMO.

Feels a bit fucked. CM whilst low in top quality, at least felt like we had a bit of depth in going into the season. Can, Hendo, Milner, Gini, Oxlade, Lallana and when needed Coutinho. 7 players for 3 positions. Been very unlucky with injuries there.

I wouldn’t particularly think it’s unlucky it’s really 4 at any given time instead of 7 because Coutinho left, Lallana is always injured and Henderson has been injured a hell of a lot the past 3 seasons. It’s lucky that Klopp thought it best to use Milner sparingly at the start of the season or else he’d more than likely be fucked also. Oxlade-Chamberlain’s had quite a few injuries in his time so there was always a chance that him, Henderson and Lallana could all be out at the same time. Leaving us with Milner, Can and Gini. Lallana despite improving massively under Klopp needs binning in the summer and Can is as good as gone, with only Keita at the moment coming in so I think we needs a minimum of two as well as Keita simply because two of our midfielders left are injury prone, Henderson and Ox.

We either need 8 including the 3 injury riddled CMs or 7 with players who rarely get injured like Milner.

Mentioning a Bournemouth game and referring to a performance in it to 'the best since Gerrard's days' deserves the same treatment as your choice in trainies, utter crap. AOC has done well but has mixed excellent with average but we really only miss him because he would be a fresh pair of legs as would Can or Lallana(for five minutes anyway.)

Had wiser heads prevailed Coutinho would be seeing the season out in a red shirt,

Hindsight, this.

3 weeks ago, nobody gave a shit about him, if we hadn't succumbed to so many injuries in such a short space of time he'd be an irrelevance.

no.  Had stupid heads prevailed Coutinho would have continued to be an ongoing distraction and we'd have been out of Europe and playing for a UEFA cup place.

Not sure this is quite true.

Even whilst we were playing well without him, many people were wary of the fragility of our squad.

Nonsense.  It's a miracle the front three stayed fit for so long.  It was obvious from day one that you shouldn't sell your only creative midfielder and only back up for the front three to fund the VVD buy.

We'd be fucked without Van Dijk though, so swings and roundabouts.

We should have had enough cash to buy van Dijk and keep Coutinho.

If Coutinho was going to be an absolute little cunt about the move to Barca then yeah fair play, get rid of him. Red Bull Leipzig and Southampton have learned that keeping unhappy players doesn't usually work out too well.

But the thing is, we should have had replacement options lined up. As others have pointed out already, it would take an absolute miracle to keep our front three fit for half an entire season given the intensity we play at. Mane missed a game recently and we managed a pitiful draw at home to now-relegated Stoke City, while Salah and Firmino have looked absolutely fucked since the first half of the Roma match at Anfield.

I dont think its hindsight at all. I would say most people thought it was stupid to sell Coutinho without replacing him. Including Klopp i would say, since we tried to bring Keita in early. I think its miraculous we have done as well as we have being as thin as we are up front.

Coutinho is a cunthole for feeling he had to move this january. Could have waited until the summer. Barca have had zero fucking use of him this spring.

Coutinho has just done an Owen, hope he enjoys his medal.

Let's limp to victory and wait and see how big the war chest is this summer.

There is no excuse not to spend untold as we have it and we need to - we are miles behind city and are behind the Mancs too who will spend plenty.
