Who is the right man then?

Who they go for will say a lot about their intentions long term.

Ancelotti is a proven premiership winner so he's a no brainer if your intention is to compete seriously at the top level.

Klopp is more marketable and brings more 'buzz' I imagine, plus he's also used to playing the underdog role and getting something out of a smaller budget. If FSG see us perpetually as on the outside looking in, then they will probably prefer that. Much the same philosophy that got us Rafa though to be fair.

I'm surprisingly ok, while I like BR I can't help but be excited at the thought of some managers that are being linked and there's nothing that can be done now anyway. If the owners pick another unknown my attitude will change.

Our fans were successful with their campaign to get him out, they now need to start one to get Jose in.

Ripped that by mistake. You talk absolute dribble.

Uh oh.

Klopp is a Protestant Christian who frequently confesses his faith in public. In a number of interviews and evangelical publications he refers to Jesus Christ as the basis of his life.[25][26][27]

Best news of the day. We can get a hate campaign going for the cunt before he even arrives here.

Confident I hate him more than any man who's ever drawn breath.

There's no guarantees whoever you bring in, but the timing of this does suggest they have someone in mind already, or even fully lined up.

Either of Ancelloti or Klopp would be on most top clubs list.

Surely Liverpool won't opt for another young and upcoming manager still learning the ropes? Maybe they could argue that the philosophy wasn't wrong, they just got the wrong man, but I can't help but feel they'll want a crowd pulling manager in place with the new stand opens.

Maybe they've written off the season already, decided to get a new guy settled in early, then let him spend heavily in the summer?

Ultimately, I'd say Ancelotti is the more proven manager, but Klopp has something about him that might be a bit more inspirational amongst the fans.

What is Klopp actually like, both with the media and the players? I honestly know fuck all about him.

He's a bit 'mad professor' like. Really interesting to listen to, but he's not a billy bullshitter like Rodgers. He talks in plain speaking terms.

He famously explained his Dortmund team weren't like classical music, they were more like heavy rock - which was both lighthearted, but also explained his 'philosophy' quite well. Less grace, more passion.

He's very good in front of camera. He'll say when performances aren't good enough, but there'll be no over the top drama.

I'm trying to think of a similar manager in history - and the best I can think of is Clough. Not quite as arrogant as Clough, but the same gritty down to earth approach but there's a tonne of intelligence behind it all.
