Well this is going well, not the kind of scores I was expecting. Sucks being at work when wickets are tumbling, I'm looking forward to sitting I front of the TV all day tomorrow probably nursing a hangover after tonight's shenanigans.

Great to see Mitch back at his best, nothing better than a real top pace fast bowler doing damage.

Fair play to Australia, all over us yesterday after we'd done the same on day one. England's batsmen need to give their head a wobble though, appalling application when under a bit of pressure. Made Mitchell Johnson look good like he does once every blue moon.

I'd like to think we'll do what we did last time in Australia and bat for 2 days. Somehow I don't think that'll happen.

Bat as much of tomorrow as possible which should, even batting slowly, yield a lead of 400+

The English had Australia by the scruff of the neck last night, now Australia has England firmly by the balls. It is now their game to lose. That said, the team that is down doesn't give up easily, while the team in front has seemingly forgotten how to win, so this isn't quite done yet. England will be looking to keep Australia to under a 400 lead, which is still possible, going by the struggles of both teams so far with bat in hand.

I'd love to get excited about the state of play now, but can't quite just yet. I also think Swann and Lyon will have a say in this game yet. For me, Swann has bowled really well without the figures to show, while Lyon will hopefully gain some confidence from that 1st innings.

Game over to be honest England needed to skittle the Aussies out for around 130...

This sort of disaster has been coming for a while now it was just the Aussies couldn't take advantage in the summer or the weather came to England's rescue.

Too many batsmen living of past glory's and nobody putting them under pressure, plus some very aggresive fast bowling from Johnson the sort of bowling England have struggled with in the past.

England need to come out of this game with a big second innings score and most of the top order need to get big runs so we can compete in the following tests and also to show Johnson they won't be intimidated, if not his confidence will grow and grow.

A lot of the batsmen also need to show that they can handle the "chin music" that will be coming at them next time they bat especially the likes of Trott and Carberry who will be targeted again.

You could write all of what these laptop gimps know on the front of one of them.

The quote was from Boycott.

Daily podcast during the test, for anyone interested.

You can say what you want about Boycs, but he's pretty articulate in his analysis and has conviction.

I quite like him, not least because Ian Chappell doesn't.

I was feeling pretty good until that last over before lunch.

That last over was pivotal.

It couldn't have been more contrived if it were a game of Playstation.

And for some reason, when Lyon came on to Carberry.

That seemed to spook the shite out of England.

Then, enter Johnson.

You can argue about whether or not England should have played him better, but he was very very good.

I wish I'd never looked now.

I'm certainly not about to look at the invoice I see the builder's just sent. This is bad enough for a girl who just got up for some water

I wish now I'd looked at the builder's invoice instead of the score; that wasnt anywhere near as scary
