Has anyone stopped and wondered if it's right wing perverts who are doing this to deflect from the tory shambles?

I defo saw a bald gammon with a strap-on in one of them videos. One looked like David Gower as well and I'm sure he's a tory.

Always be thinking, always question.

I had the same thought but couldn’t be arsed opening the can of worms.

A can of one worm being opened caused this whole thing so best not. Pixilated granted but you don't watch Japanese porn and assume the bird hasn't actually got a growler do you. Well I don't anyway.

Drag has no place in a kids face. Certainly not the sexualised stuff. Dame Edna Everage whatever his name is/was did no harm but ball swinging bdsm jackanory time is wrong.

It's still ok to hate facists.

Lord of the Cock-Rings

Just to be clear, the Jackanory stuff is not in any way sexualised.  Rico likes to lie that it is, but it isn't. Drag Queen Story Hour is inoffensive and harmless.

The show in the pub, with someone doing the splits, is stuff that sane people could object to (but probably not to the extent of standing with the Fascist demo against it).

The Caba Baba thing looks vile and not in any way suitable for kids.

Mate, seriously. Why the fuck would a bloke sat dressed as a bird with a bra on and lipstick be good for kids? Fuck me they should be trying to decide what's better warm or cold rice pudding not if they've got a hidden fanny under their bollocks.

I agree fully that wankers make a big deal about this and scream and shout while the country burns over stuff they probably voted for but fuck me AoT. You're struggling here. I wouldn't want my kids going to a drag story hour and I'd question anyone who is ok with it. I wouldn't set fire to a stick and start calling them slags but still. Just stick with Rick Mayall and Roger Red Hat.

I don’t think it’s inoffensive. I think it’s pretty fucking weird. Because it is. What is the point? What benefit is it doing to anyone?

When you’re entrenched you’ll defend anything.  In this case so far it’s been rapists in womens prisons and men, in dresses dancing in a highly sexualised way.

Why do you believe anything this person says? He lies right fucking at you.

Negged. Half hearted shite. If you’re not gonna go nuclear then I’d appreciate it if you would disagree in a nicer manner.

It’s just fucking amazing. This is the hill he’s chosen to die on.

Cant define the difference between a man and woman and has no problem with sexualised entertainment for kids. But fascists.

I’m still buzzing off off balance and reaching for a book. It really doesn’t get much better than that. World class.

Imagine anyone thinking that this isn't the seating position that the drag queen* chose to sit in for half an hour or however long it takes to read a kid's book (probably a bit longer, since he's chosen not to even hold the book).

I feel stupid now. I accept that you're right and I apologise unreservedly.

(*Maybe ARed could tell us who the reader is; he seems to know that he's got a sexualised name.)

So now we get the row back. But only because people (me, ARed, Skids and Stronts) pushed back, but a week ago people who disagreed were Nazis.

He told you that a man, dancing in a thong  in front of children was ok.  Where I live we have a word for them.

I do wonder the extent to which the whole trans issue is being at least encouraged by the Russians on social media to be more of an issue than it deserves. . We have had trans, drag and gay people in prominent cultural positions for years and quite rightly nobody cared (though I always thought drag was a very politically dubious art form). Now trans rights are dominating political debate at least on line, causing division within parties and partly contributed to Sturgeon’s downfall. The Labour Party are also struggling to maintain their coherence on this and I think it will be an issue in the election. I expect this whole debate about how a tiny number of people refer to themselves is quite handy as a distraction from Ukraine.

It’d be shocking if an actual woman was photographed like that, but then again the woman would most likely not be dressed up like that to sit in front of a room full of pre-schoolers.

I consider myself on the left. Have I just been taken in by these scare stories, or have I arrived at my warped viewpoint by myself?

What is your viewpoint?

If it's "that's not my cup of tea, I'll swerve it" then, fine.

If it's "drag queens are a danger to our children, because they're predatory paedophiles and must be shut down" then you've been taken in.

Mate, I’ve posted my views quite clearly. Please read my other posts on the last couple of pages. It’s weird, unnecessary and beneficial to nobody.

Mate, stop it. Most of them haven't even got a womb. Where's the foetus gonna gestate?

Seriously.  Babies and toddlers don't drive themselves to these events. There's the answer to the question of whether people who have children feel differently about this.

Or the left are looking for the next thing to solve.  And have MASSIVELY misjudged the impact on half the population.
