Martin Laursen is a good player, as is Olaf Mellberg but he has taken a full back's role this season, Oneill will do well keep hold of the both of them after the summer.

Easily the most over-rated defender- in fact, player- in the division.

His concentration levels are poor, and his decision making borders on the comical. He always tries to show everybody that he can play a bit- which, okay, he can- but a centre back needs to defend first and foremost. Bollocks to anything fancy on the ball- hence my decision to choose Carragher; a solid, dependable centre back who's first priority- as it should be- is always about getting the ball away from the danger area.

 

Still, all about opinions I guess.

Carragher is a top out and out defender but he is too eager to knock it long at times. He does this less though when Xabi plays infront of him and the team benefits.

JC beating the legend that is Sami Hyypia 9-3, when on this seasons form Sami is better and on average performance since they started there LFC career Sami is easily better

 

Obvioulsy you could always take the last 3 seasons excluding this one when obviously JC has been miles better

I generally find the better the opposition, the better Ferdinand plays. He does lack concentration on occasions, but is a great defender. His distrubution and ability to bring the ball out from the back seems to have got worse from his early playing days though.
