Intelligence. Strength. Accuracy. Impudence. Drive. Mojo. Attitude. Yer ma. Bravery. Energy.

I don't ask for much.

They rested a few in Copenhagen, and we were able to leave a bunch of regulars on the bench and bring them on for a run-out in Glasgow. All the talk about them centres around the form of Haaland, with the freak continuing to bang in the goals at a ridiculous rate (he's better than a goal a game for club and country since 2019), but we need to focus on matching their midfield. Easier said than done when we are short of options and peak form in that part of the field, but keeping a lid onthat midfield is key. Also key is not fucking conceding first for once! Be mentally attuned, be phycially attuned, and don't allow them, Guardiola and the Professional Game Manchester-based Officials Limited to call the shots.

Based on available personnel then going to the diamond against City might be the way to go, standard back four, Fabinho at the base of midfield Henderson and Thiago ahead of him then Firmino in the 10 behind Salah and Nunez.

Both Nunez and and Salah are able to split out wide with Firmino able to ghost around and harry Rodri, we have the extra midfielder as 'security' and might be able to keep Haaland down to a single hatrick.

I'm a lot more confident about this after last night.

Firmino and Salah were unplayable and Nunez is slowly but surely finding his feet and actually scoring.

At the back, Gomez is a huge improvement on an out-of-form Trent, and he's not too shabby going forward either. Konate is a just a fantastic centre half.

I think we're going to have to play as the away side in this. Our pressing is all over the shop and they'll just knock it around us and be in on a whim if we attempt that. As you can see with that robots repertoire, he can make any ball into the box a chance. He really should've scored twice against us in the community shield. Stopping de bruyne is obviously the number 1 priority as his whipped in crosses are deadly. Shackle him and we'll increase our chances 50%.

They can be got at,  at the back and when we can we have to be ruthless in taking our chances

Pleased that Konate is back, I really do feel that he has been the biggest loss to the side this season. On that basis I'm confident that we will keep City down to single figures.

Konate played 11 out of 38 games in the league last season.

What have you missed?
