You think he's a waste of space, I get it but no point in diminishing his role that season. He played enough games to have played a decent role and the games he did play he was class.

By his standards he at least appeared a bit more than usual.

He clocked up 2,386 mins across all comps.

We played 5,730 mins total - so he featured in just under 42% of the mins we played.

I wouldn't call it significant but probably his most productive season for us.

He started champions league semi final, both legs, fa cup semi final, fa cup final. Pretty significant.

We can go back and forth all day.

You think his contribition was significant, i feel it was less than. We aren't gonna agree - so happy to agree to disagree.

It’s funny how stats can look when you don’t give the full picture and you want to drop snide percentages.  The only two midfielders who played more minutes than him for us that season in the league and champions league were Fabinho and Henderson.

We could always post the picture of him crying like a little girl on the bench as the team kicked off in the league cup final, if we wanted to be snide.

For a £20m fee, £200k a week and will undoubtedly piss off for fuck all at the end of it - he's absolutely in the conversation for our worst signing ever.

People are getting performance confused with value for money. He's been generally good when he's been on the pitch, but he's never on the pitch - so what's the point?

Dress it how you want- he's been an unmitigated disaster.

Which says what exactly....

Fact is he started less than half our league games - nothing snide about that - just factual information.

The other competition stats posted are also all factual - knock yourself out with how you choose to interpret them or frame them.

I as already stated choose to do so by saying I don't feel he was a significant contributor for us.

He was someone Klopp wanted that was an established player. People clamor for these types of signings all the time; "go get the experienced winner who the manager wants". The nature of those signings is often much worse than people think.

Though he's a great player, it hasn't worked as well as it could've. It is what it is.

Um, that he played the third most minutes in midfield for us that season.

Based on fact he'd probably be the first name on the sheet in there it says fuck all good does it. The competition was Keita and Oxlade and Milner FFS.

The two ahead of him would be miles ahrad as well in terms of games and mins.

He started 17 out of 38 league games.

Whoopfuckingee

Keita and Aquilani were pound for pound worse.

But his wages put him up there for sure.

Was a luxury signing. Technically one of the most beautiful players you’ll ever see. But a complete and utter disaster as a signing, the polar opposite to Gini.

I think more accurately he is artistically one of the most beautiful players. But it's not ice skating. There's no prises for artistic merit.

Not sure why you are working yourself into a lather. It is what happened - whether or not playing the third most minutes upfront for example wasn't a significant contribution is the real question. Don't know who that was.
