I saw a report the other day about how unreliable the polls are. Most people these days don’t have a landline or don’t answer it, with mostly older people answering when they do get an answer.

 

Similarly when they go out speaking to people when they’re polling, they head out to the High Street. I dunno about you lot but I probably head out to the High Street about four times a year these days. If they’re heading to the High Street during the week, it’s mostly pensioners and young mothers, not exactly a cross section of the community.

 

And as for online polls, that’s a very small niche section of society. 

 

That being said it appears clear that Labour have a lot of work to do. I think a lot of people who have recently been polled and said they’d vote Lib Dem will realise when it comes to the crunch if you want the Tories out and a chance at remaining in the EU, Labour is the sensible choice.

 

My prediction, the Lib Dems will finish with no more than 13% of the vote, and end up with around 30 seats. Tories largest party but not enough for a majority, meaning Labour, the SNP, and the Lib Dems will have the chance to work together and secure another EU referendum.

The age that people are switching to Tory is getting older though. It was mid-30’s in the 80’s, it’s almost 50 now. And with a generation priced out of buying a home in large parts of the country, and 10 years of austerity and no wage growth, that’s unlikely to be a trend that’s going to reverse.

 

I also think Johnson and his Brexiteer hardliners are making the Tories unpalatable to huge numbers of people.

I’m not so sure. The gold-plated final salary pension mob will be dying out, replaced by people who are forced by the Tories to work until they’re 70 to qualify for a state pension and be in a position to retire.
