If the unthinkable happened and Rodgers was sacked.....

I agree, but there was a sense of logic the first time around... they'd gone for a fans favourite, who had a great track record (albeit some time ago).

Then they went for a well known quantity in Hodgson.

They they went down the 'young talent and give him time route'... which most people believed was a valid approach, even if they might have preferred one of the big names.

I just don't think they'd attempt it again right after Rodgers. I think they might be tempted to go all out for a big name (or the biggest name they could attract)

Wrong.

If be gutted if we brought in Villas Boas, an absolute mug who has failed abysmally twice in England

He's a good coach whose tactics don't suit the Premier League and he doesn't change them. Because of how well he did at Porto people thought he was the new Mourinho.

The way he sets his team up means they're susceptible to scorelines like 6-0 at City and 5-0 at home to us last season. Those results got him sacked because otherwise they were doing okay.

In his defence the players turned on him at Chelsea because he was trying to move out the old guard which he'd been told to do. At Spurs they spunked 100 mill and he genuinely had nothing to do with any of the signings because Baldini got them in. He's better off abroad though.

The thing about AVB is he seems to have the same stubborn streak as Rodgers in that if something is clearly not working he drags his feet about changing it. He also kicked off about not having a say in transfers at Spuds and he would be in a similar environment here. He's a top coach though and would have done a better job a Spurs than Tim Sherwood.

Not advocating him - at all - but at least AVB has a record of winning things (in Portugal, Europe, and soon Russia). Which should be one of the main criteria for the Liverpool job...

The only thing he's won in the UK is handsome pay-offs for utterly shite return.

Klopp - "If someone called me after Dortmund, then we can talk about it"

Reporter- Has someone called you yet?

Klopp -  *shrugs shoulders* "Sometimes timing is very important".

Sounds like us and Arsenal are sounding him out behind the scenes.
