I think it’s a reasonable rule in life you shouldn’t marry the type of woman who sits on your shoulders and drunkenly sings along at a festival. She’s probably quite self centred, lacks empathy for the poor fuckers standing behind you and will destroy you in a divorce settlement. I speak from rueful experience.

Felt for Lewis Capaldi during his set. Hope he can get better with his tourettes. Crowd really helped him through which was good to see.

Yeah same. Love that lad

Agree with this, I don't think concerts have to be a retread of your greatest hits album, but you have to realise that not all your audience will be mega-fans and they are often these days paying significant ticket prices.

Had the same discussion with my mate last night on the way home from the Peter Gabriel gig at the AO Arena

( or Enormodome as he calls it ). He was made up that a minimum of hits were covered and loads of experimental, not even on albums yet, stuff got played. I have followed him since the Genesis days but felt that it was self-indulgent for his set to go 10 or 11 songs with pompous introductions about the visual artists involved , before I recognised one.

Saw him in Birmingham last Saturday Rog and said to my mate it’s a bit indulgent to do 11 songs from 22 from a new album you haven’t released, especially as half the crowd have paid a ton plus for tickets (we were in the cheap seats at £67). I thought the new stuff sounded really good but I’d have swapped half a dozen for songs like Games Without Frontiers, Steam, Shock The Monkey etc.
