Klopp: Stepping down at the end of the season

I don't think it matters too much what the reason is he's leaving. Certainly not right now. Now, we just get on with enjoying the end of the season and giving Jürgen the send off he deserves. For now we take what he says on face value and get on with trying to win as many of these trophies as we can and most importantly winning the league.

If there's more to all this than has been said up to now, it will come out. Even looking cynically at it could even be as simple as the way we spend, it is so hard to achieve what we do with the resources we have. So could we get another 3 years out of klopp had we been able to spend like Chelsea, hell even like arsenal since arteta has been around. Well maybe. But klopp always said he wasn't here forever. We've got more than the 7 years he originally told us he was targeting. And the bottom line is, if he's done, he's done.

Could be a number of things, grandchildren, health (seems to have lost weight, wedding ring falling off etc), maybe he's had a friend of a similar age get ill and he's realised life's too short and he needs a break to enjoy his life outside of football a bit more.

Maybe he didn't want to leave us in the shit with a big rebuild ahead and he thought it'd take a bit longer than it did to get us back to the top before leaving.

It is funny that there's been multiple times in the last few years that we've had a bad run and Jurgen looked rough, and the rumours were going around that he was burnt out and thinking of leaving, until he addressed it directly in press conferences to say he's fine.

Now just as we're thinking he looks refreshed and really happy with the new team, he tells us he's burnt out and needs to leave.

He wanted to leave the team in healthy condition he said to the players himself its your fault because they improved faster than he thought they would. He now feels he can walk away leaving the club in a far better healthier position than when he arrived. He hasn't done a ferguson used every last drop and left a bigger job than it needed to be for the next man.

He sounded to me when he said something like "if I'm not going to get sacked, I need to choose the time", that he was quite ready to go last year had the club wanted to part ways, a bit like what happened at Dortmund. I prefer him leaving this way.

In fairness he's just reporting on a survey done by LiveScore Bet.

Now I'm not going to claim the average online Liverpool fan has never seen Anfield from the inside, or has absolutely no knowledge about the club or city and would want us to be taken over by North Korea if it helped us keep pace with City.

Oh hang on...yes I am.

Disney+ is in advanced talks to buy the Liverpool documentary detailing manager Jurgen Klopp's final six months at Anfield in a deal that will earn the club about £10m. (Mail)

BBC today - really hope this isn’t true - last distraction we need - could possibly destabilize the new guy coming in too. Doubt Klopp would want this.

Maybe us lot making sweeping statements on a man’s health based on his appearance and mannerisms in short post match interviews is completely pointless. Who would have guessed? Maybe that’s why we have doctors and stuff.

You take the man at his word. Think it's no more simple than last season took a lot out of him and he doesn't want to through that again. He's got us back in a great place, probably quicker than he thought and now's the time.

Did he say that?

Gertong a bit concerned with Tuchel on the brink at Bayern and Alonso going there

If he wants to go to Bayern rather than here, he's not our man. There's no logical sense why he'd make that move. It's not like he won't have to uproot his family for either club. The premier league is a better level to compete than Germany. Liverpool is the bigger challenge because of that. So even if everything is emotionally even, we're the right choice. Unless he doesn't feel ready. And if he doesn't feel ready, he's not the right man for the job.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same. He also has a good chance of a very unlikely and remarkable Bundesliga with Leverkusen which plays into our hands. Bayern would be a bit of a hollow choice after that.

The only caveat is his top career could well be over if he does not show progress in his next job.

Bayern are guaranteed to win domestic silver and be in the CL knockouts. A couple of seasons there and it's basically a sure thing to keep his hat in the top ring of managers.

Here is definitely the tougher task and a rough start, then finishing out of the top 4 is a very real possibility.
