Was going to mention in my latest match thread that he was their manager when the sides last met in the same competition, but felt it had no relevance to anything. Now I learn that he's passed away. Alzheimer's and any dementia-related illness are a complete bastard.

Richard Lewis from curb gone at 76

Very sorry to hear about Richard Lewis. Curb is my favourite show, but he was also a great stand up and a priceless Prince John in Robin Hood: Men In Tights, among other things.

 

I am grateful that last month I was able to thank him on Twitter for the work he and the rest of the cast have done over the years (he liked my tweet). If you get the chance to tell someone you appreciate them, take it.

Mad how old people looked in the 80s. I remember seeing a picture of Earthquake when he was 25 and he looked older than I do at 43 ( and I don't look young)

Hairy biker Dave Myers has gone at 66, RIP.

 

I was watching their west coast show the other night when they came to Liverpool and the Wirral. He didn't look good like, but he was acting like his old self.

 

Very sad.

I watched that. The series is only about halfway through I think.

 

Absolutely gutted tbh. Met them both once and Myers in particular was a top bloke. RIP Dave.

That's a shame. They both seemed like decent fellas and theirs was one of very few cooking shows I could happily watch. RIP.

Yes, sad news. Saw one of their recent shows and it looked like he was getting a bit better. You could see that the cancer had took its toll on his body but he was doing physio to improve his mobility and he’d been signed off as well enough to get back on his motorbike.

I saw that on Tuesday night too.

The announcement of his death this morning caught me more than I was expecting

That is very sad news. The Hairy Bikers are sound, and Dave Myers brought a down-to-earth sense of humour to their shows.
