I’m going to go out on a limb and say Benzema, Touchameni and Kroos are all available…

Real Madrid have confirmed their travelling squad for the Champions League last-16 first-leg with Liverpoolon Tuesday.

The 14-time champions travel to England this week to face the Reds at Anfield.

Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameniare both missing for the trip with illness leaving manager Carlo Ancelotti with holes to fill in midfield.

Striker Mariano Diaz is also missing.

Karim Benzema is fit to travel, however, after missing the La Liga win over Osasuna at the weekend.

Kroos and Tchouameni haven’t travelled because of illness and Mendy is still out so it'll probably be either

Courtois

Carvajal Militao Rudiger Alaba

Valverde Camavinga Modric

Rodrigo Benzema Vinicius

or

Courtois
Carvajal Militao Rudiger Alaba

Modric Camavinga Ceballos

Valverde Benzema Vinicius

Away from home I think he will go with the latter.

Definitely. And their bench is obviously not as strong as it could have been either. Modric will probably not last the 90 and Benzema can't be fully fit after missing games.

Madrid have had our number of the past 5 years but they havent played at a packed Anfield. I'm becoming more confident as time goes on.

Jurgen Klopp says there is a chance for Darwin Nunez to be fit for Tuesday night's Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

The Liverpool striker has been struggling with a shoulder injury.

See you next season Darwin.

Top quality side from midfield onwards. Clearly not as solid in defence. We're owed a really good performance against them.

Some journalist today referenced Ancelotti's comments after the final last year where he implied we were easy to figure out and deal with tactically, so Jurgen and his assistants should have plenty of motivation too.

We're also going to need Vinicius to fluff all the big moments because he's essentially going to be playing against a non existent right back at times.

He's gone from being a bit of a joke, and someone most Real Madrid fans wanted to get rid of, to one of the best players in the world.

Whats going on with him in Spain this season? Seems like everyone hates him and then he is also dealing with some racism stuff?

Klopp referenced it in his PC too. Fair play to Carlo for planning to rely on his goalkeeper to make some world class saves to win a game that they had 2 shots on goal with only one on target. We got suckerpunched but it wasn't because Ancelotti out-tacticked  Klopp. They took one if their 3 chances, we didn't take any of our 24.

Yes, we are not in the same form as last season but neither are they. Benzema is not on Balon d'Or form, Camavinga is not as good a DM as Casemiro, Modric is a year older, Ceballos is not on Kroos's level.

Not sure. He's getting a properly rough deal from refs this year as well as the racist abuse from fans. Ancelotti was furious during their game against Osasuna.

Apart from the Paris final in 81, and the two games in 2008/9 when we destroyed them at Anfield  and won with a Benayoun header(?) there, we have come up short against these fuckers even when we’ve bossed the games.

We certainly owe them a good hiding, and under normal circumstances I’d fancy us to do just that, especially as this isn’t a final, but given our current fragile form and Ancelloti’s luck against us since 2005, I can’t see them being that bad that we won’t have a difficult match unfortunately.

A draw would be a good result, a win excellent.

The three week gap between legs is a shitshow really. The wait takes a lot of the intensity out of the overall encounter after the first leg. Also, given the season we've had, it's as likely to bite us on the arse as benefit us in terms of injuries and availability. The gap should never be more than two weeks - being UEFA, I assume there's a financial motivation to it.
