Numero's question is the vital one. If it's a gaming desktop you're after, my last couple have come from Cyberpower UK and I've no complaints at all about them, very good service, decent price and great choice. @mgw100 also got a really good deal on a pre-built from AWD-IT.

I got one off ebay. 2 huge hard dives 64gb ram thing is massive though. Fan is noisy and the thing lights up the room green. Apart from that and the 3 monitors its great for browsing the web. Which I can do on my phone or on of my other PC's or laptop or ipad or tv. Waste of money but ace.

Should add unless you are a coder don't get three monitors. It is shit and you spend endless time justifying your pointless decision pretending you can write code. And have no desk space and loads of cables.

I can highly recommend the website PCpartpicker. Choose a processor and let it do the work for you of finding compatible components and motherboard etc.

 

Anyway, just invested in this as my AMD FX8320 is just not good enough anymore after 10 years.

What card did you opt for?

 

4090s are too pricey, so I'm debating whether to get a 4080 Super or something less powerful and then upgrade to the 5 series when they are released.

What are you playing that would need you to upgrade on release?

 

Got a new computer, went with a desktop for the first time in years (an Asus ROG pre-fab for £800), with a 3060Ti and it seems spot on. Still performs well on benchmarking sites as well.

I've got the same card and have had no problem in playing games at 1440P/ 4K and 60+fps. There are real diminishing returns at the higher end.

That's what I thought, I mean I'm not playing high end FPS with ray tracing and all that so wasn't sure if there was another significant jump out there that I'm missing.

Yeah true. A 4080 Super will probably last me around 3 years+ before warranting an upgrade. It's just a shame they are so fucking expensive. 1k for a graphics card seems insane.
