Looks like he's back in full training. Are we going to find out whether he's any good?

He couldn't possibly not be an improvement on what we've seen in our midfield, could he?

Well he's brasilian so he should settle in with Alli and Fabinho. Fair play to the lad, he was working hard to get fit when he got injured and it makes you wonder whether the medical team were monitoring him properly if at all.

If he brings some improvement to the team and midfield, all the better now he's working his way back.

Lucas was out there on the pitch every time we needed him.

Plus he is PL winner.

I always think that Phil Neville's handball on the goal-line was a big setback for Lucas. If he'd scored the winner in that derby (after everyone had groaned because Rafa had brought this barely-tried kid on for Gerrard) he would have been an instant cult hero; massive conference boost for him and more fans happy to trust Rafa's judgement. It might even have been enough to help us convert a couple of those disappointing draws in early 2008/09 into wins...

In another wild revelation from the investigation into Juventus’ financial tampering, ex-CFO Marco Re has allegedly admitted overpaying for Arthur.

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2023/02/juventus-wiretap-reveals-ex-director-admitting-they-overpaid-for-arthur/

Now, the Liverpool loanee has reportedly been named by former Juventus chief financial officer Re, who admitted on a wiretapped phone call that the club overpaid Barcelona for Arthur in 2020.

“Think of a player like Arthur, who you paid €75 million to have a capital gain with Pjanic,” he said, according to Corriere della Sera.

“It was clear he wasn’t worth as much, was he?”

Sums up the season really - we brought this Arthur lad in on loan to provide some cover for midfield and likely mostly Thiago - first up his own injury prevents him from being any use and now when he is finally  going to actually maybe be fit and be in consideration for a squad place, and with Thiago injured so cover might be handy - he can't be used at all in our European Cup games because we left him out of the squad.

It's beyond parody at this point this season.

I'm not convinced he'll get a go anyway to be honest.

Clearly. He was decent Lucas, nothing more nothing less. We have about two decent midfielders at the club now, and one of them just got injured.

Lucas was just decent technically but positionally he was brilliant. Every manager he played under started him when fit. He would be hugely useful this season.
