He was a decent little player to be fair.  Not to be confused with Darren Peacock who played like he had boots on the wrong feet and is one of the luckiest people ever to somehow make a career out of something he just couldn't do.

Had a great post-football career in the music industry and won a Grammy, apparently.

So good they named a football club after him.

Playing to his strengths produces that. Who'd have thunk it.... delighted for the lad.

If we played like that all the time then he'd bag loads. But we don't and that's why he's largely ineffective in our standard setup. If I was Klopp I'd change everything to work with him as a focal point. He's immense running off players.

Steady now.

He needs to do it the next game, and the game after and the game after now, or we're no further on than last season when he had a good game every now and then (especially when everyone was saying pre-match that Newcastle were a good team for him).

Encouraging that he came on and made an impact, needs to get into the starting line up and performing consistently.

Difficult to be in a starting line up when not selected.

He'll score shitloads of goals when we have him running onto us getting ball forward quickly and directly and against teams who are not camped in own final third.

He stretches teams and he is ideal in stretched games.....the challenge is how do we get best out of him when we are probing and asking forwards to come short and link play etc against parked buses.

Hopefully we figure it out.

But it's pointless pretending there's no reason for not being selected.

It's not like we were keeping Ronaldo (the proper one) on the bench and it's completely inexplicable why, he's had significantly more ineffectual games than he's had good games which is why he hasn't started.

If he was doing more on and off the ball he'd have been the first option against Bournemouth and Newcastle when we went down to ten and he'd have been building some momentum.

He comes on in a game that was conducive to his skill and scored, hopefully things will start to click with him now but he needs to dig in and show it in games that aren't.

We should go to a diamond. We have the players in the middle to make it work in possession at the very least. Buy two new players and we can have a brilliant season. Konate out until after int'l break so need a new CB.

Ali

Trent  NewCB  Virg R obbo

NewDM

Szobo     Macca

Gakpo

Nunez     Salah

If we don't do anything in the market though, today will just be the same as last season's Carvalho winner in the last minute.
