The Real Way

Just think about how much Gerard has actually spent on teh following players (arguably our strongest line-up: Dudek Markus B Henchoz Hyypia Carra Stevie Didi Murphy Riise Owen Heskey In total they all cost in the region of £30million. This is the cost of one "proven" player that Real buy. Why spend all transfer funds on 1 player(who may turn out to be a dud in the premiership) when we can get a whole first team with that money. If I remember also there is a rule that all players who join a teams academy in britain must live within 90 minutes travelling distance. I think the likes of Arsenal are bending the rules by bringing the youth over to engla…

I thought we should have won by a greater margin to be honest, we created far better chances. Honestly I expect better from the Telegraph as Henry Winter writes for them.

Owen should be left out against Bolton cos given the chances, I fancy Baros and Heskey to score. Signed, Mr H.Indsight

And quite frankly I have not heard so much racist rubbish in a long time It started with abuse directed at Heskey, Traore, Diao & Diouf when warming up.....The moved on to our "foreign legion" who, apparantly, are bleeding the game dry..... However the more serious incidents were aimed at a young Muslim lad who was sat next to me, about 18 yrs old sat on his own and minding his own business........The …

have to agree Dave the old matchday magazine was a good read but it was unpopular with a sizable percentage of fans i used to buy mine from my local newsagent on Penny Lane and read it before I went to the match and leave it at home so know hassles about pocket size for me

Just want to express my disgust at the huge cheer that went up at the end of the match last night when the man utd result was announced on the tannoy. What sort of thick bastards were cheering that result after we had just capitulated against those neandethals. Maybe the ones who ran off happy because they had a club shop bag? Maybe the ones who wil return home to northampton etc happy because they can rib their friends about man utd. Maybe it was the scousers? It nearly pissed me off as much as when the walton-break-road-mcdonalds-family-stand (formally the Spion Kop) started singing "one-nil to the arsenal" last season against blackburn. Sort it out or fuck of…

Where is Markus?

Is Markus being kept back because he is not yet match fit? Surely a half fit markus is a better option than a fully fit Xavier? Or is there something more worrying about his absence?

After an impressive performance for the French ’Espoirs’, coach Raymond Domenech has heaped praise on Liverpool midfielder Alou Diarra. Diarra, currently on loan with French side Le Havre, impressed during a recent 1-0 victory over Cyprus, laying on the pass for future Liverpool star Florent-Sinama Pongolle to net the winner. And Domenech has likened the former Bayern Munich midfielder to Patrick Vieira, believing him to have the same qualities as the Arsenal midfielder. He said: "Alou has talent, it is undenaible. "Anyway, when the Germans are interested in a Frenchman, it is not by chance, especially if he plays at Louhans-Cuiseaux. "Today, Gera…

It was a very young Liverpool side that lined up against Derby County in this academy game, and it showed just by comparing the size of the players. There were seven 17 year olds starting this Under 19 fixture, and with having such a young side, it will be difficult for new Under 19 boss John Owens to repeat the success of last year. A derelict and empty Baseball Ground was the scene, and surprisingly there was a very small crowd. If you exclude the friends and family, who sat in the directors’ box, there were only 9 fans there… despite it not clashing with Derby’s game in the afternoon, and being free to get in. Liverpool started the brighter of the two teams, …
