Xherdan Shaqiri

Joyce saying Harry Wilson could be going to to Stoke on loan as part of the deal.

Hopefully he should get a lot of games for them.

I guess we would then know if he is capable of consistently performing on a cold rainy night?

Boss little signing, a game changer for 13 mil, versatile, played at 2 top clubs before, cracking strike, set piece taker, left footed and very explosive. Don’t understand how anyone can see any negative in this transfer, at absolute worst case scenario you’d flog him for 15-20 million.

All the goals he's scored for Stoke. Most of which were absolute slappers. People saying they don't want that for like 13m? Please.

If you use the term "absolute slappers" to describe goals, then you are indeed indulging in an "episode of wham".

Whether Shaqiri is a success or not will boil down to whether Klopp can convince him to stop taking bad shots or not.

If he can get it through his head that just cycling the ball back to Fabinho or Keita is better than a 27-yard shot, because those players still have the likes of Firmino or Mane ahead of them, then he'll be a solid backup. If he thinks "I must be the hero, BLAM!" every time he gets in the opposition third, then he'll be sold next summer.

I've no issue with him taking 27 yard shots. We need someone with the balls to do that. Coutinho was the only one we had since Gerrard stopped doing it. The element of surprise is essential.

Just having somebody on the pitch capable of scoring those occasionally gives defenders an extra thing to worry about.

Imagine it's 20 odd yards out, as it stands they aren't expecting a shot so they choose to mark the attackers in the box instead of closing down.

With shaqiri they'd have to come out and put pressure on so he cant get a shot off, pulling them out of position leaving space for our front 3.
