A mate of mine just posted a reply to a betting site on his twitter, I assume he meant it to be a DM. He’s laid £400 on their being under 2.5 goals in the Spurs game. He’s since deleted it but I think he loses £900 if there’s another goal. Mental.

If his wife finds out he’s fucked.

I see McVey is trying to block lowering the stake on fixed odds betting terminals to £2 a go. She's boinking Phillip Davies, who has taken substantial amounts from the betting industry to argue vociferously against reducing the stake.

I dont understand the FBOT thing, surely all the difference in lowering the stake is that their money will last longer? plus there is always online

So when you can gamble £100 every 20 secs and that gets reduced to £2. £6 a minute yes money will last longer, a lot longer that's a good thing. Online is a problem but the physical and emotional addictive nature of these bastard machines that bookmakers can't wait to fill in their shops means it's great news and the more parasite bookies and staff that lose jobs the better.

But most of the MPs who received free tickets were Labour MPs? So I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Who mentioned anything about parties ? The point is, just a few hours after it's announced that the date to put this in place is delayed, it then comes out that once again our fucking corrupt MPs are up to their necks in it.

They'll be back to fiddling expenses again soon.

Your post suggests that at some point in time they actually stopped.

I mention parties because government is responsible for the delay, but most of the MPs who accepted tickets from gambling firms are not part of the government. Far from showing corruption it surely shows the opposite, ie that MPs supported gambling controls despite receiving hospitality. As I say, not really sure what the point was.

William Hill plans 700 store closures putting 4,500 jobs at risk

Bookmaker William Hill has said it plans to close about 700 betting shops, which could lead to 4,500 job losses.

The firm said the move followed the government's decision in April to reduce the maximum stake on fixed-odds betting terminals to £2.

Since then, the company added, it had seen "a significant fall" in gaming machine revenues.

William Hill, which has 2,300 shops and 12,500 employees, said the closures could begin before the end of the year.

"The group will look to apply voluntary redundancy and redeployment measures extensively and will be providing support to all colleagues throughout the process," its statement said.

Sad for the employees but fuck William Hill and fuck all bookies. Cunts.

They make hundreds of millions in profit and still would without closing a single store or letting a single employee go.

So yeah, fuck William Hill the cunts.
