Tides shifted fully now.  It’s only wums online that don’t see through them.

Let's hope so. Sick to death of these fuckers dumbing us down. Fucking Jurgen over etc etc. I read they're looking at other sports teams. That's the issue, we need to be someone's  main focus. We aren't for them.

I think when Klopp leaves in a couple of years we are in deep deep shit under these owners. Even your traditional mid to lower table clubs now have owners who have ambition for their team and invest in their playing side. FSG just look at us the way an accountant looks at tax receipts. Lavia isn't enough, failing to even get Lavia or anybody else is a fucking leg drop to Klopps time here. A once in a generation manager if you are lucky and we've made it a way harder job for him to compete than necessary.

Pull your fingers out, get some business done we a fucking football team the business is the revolves around that not the other way round.

Been saying this for years. Klopp has constantly covered for their tight arsedness. They won't strike gold like him again..

Bit more on Chelsea's £48m bid for Romeo Lavia. Chelsea have been circling for quite some time. #LFC well aware of this. Joe Shields involved. Chelsea tried for Lavia last summer at £50m and pledged to come close to this number long before they bid this evening.

Liverpool as ever have a top-end valuation (unclear what that is here, but £50m deemed high). If they can't succeed at it they usually walk away. Lavia has indicated he wants the move to Anfield, though. Another complication with this deal is high agent fees on top of fee.

And to pre-empt the Moises Caicedo questions... Chelsea are still in talks. Bid for Lavia isn't a sign of Caicedo 'defeat'.

Lavia only joined Southampton last year didn't he? So if Chelsea wanted him for 50m last year, why didn't they just buy him from City?

If Chelsea get lavia and caecido, that's a very powerful midfield.

And Fernandez. A very pragmatic midfield with little creativity that you would expect to excel more without the ball. Most of their wingers are finishers rather than creative too.

With Mourinho and a good, physical striker they'd be more of a worry. As it is, they seem to be taking a leaf from Utds book and relying mainly on the counter.

Exactly like us when we were great the other year then.

Why don't Chelsea just pay the 50 ? They can well afford it . Maybe just maybe even that number for a 19 year old relegated player from last season is a tad risky.  If he is a generational talent city buy him back simple as that

.   With our finances he too big a risk . That dud  Kieta  definitely has shook my faith in the ability of klopps and this forums ability to source new midfield talent.

There's no Gini breaking the lines, Henderson was more creative and useful in the buildup than any of those have shown to be (Enzo has the ability in the right set up so maybe we see more from him under his compatriot) and Chilwell and James have never lasted a full season at Robbo/Trent's level (although both class players). Finally, there's no Bobby, who gave us the creative focal point in the middle. Otherwise identical.

They appear to be mainly pinning their hopes on this Jackson kid being Torres level from the get-go.

'Chelsea to save Liverpool millions.'

Exactly, this is turning out to be a fantastic window for FSG. A typical net spend summer transfer window, vast amounts cut from the wage bill. They've managed to stall bringing in anyone extra to within three weeks of the window closing and the eve of the Premierships return. What's not to like?

Over to Klopp now to keep us vaguely competitive.

We really need another center back if they are going to continue with the back M of the WM as Robertson is ill suited to left center back and Van Dijk and Konate have chequered injury records

Got to be honest our defence scares the hell out of me. Personally I think Macca and Dom will be huge players for us and give us a new found dynamism in midfield - heard a German football guy talking about the Bundesliga and he said Dom has it in him to be a world class player and is a huge loss for Leipzig. I think we'll get Lavia over the line in the coming days - we just look like absolute knobheads. Yes, a few million is not nothing, but it's evident that Southampton value the kid at a price and aren't budging. Pay up or Fuck off here. I saw him a few times and was impressed. Certainly, if we do get him, we could have an absolutely magnificent midfield in the coming years. Fabinho was a world class player, but for most of last season, he looked like a championship quality player. Hendo was a "captain" and by all accounts a great pro, but he got his kit off at the first sight of Saudi money, so again not sure if he's that big a loss behind the scenes. Millie was a great servant and a great pro - I actually would have liked him kept. Imagine what we'll give Brighton's kids in terms of showing them what professionalism look like as they get their first big contracts. Not really a loss on the playing side though. Keita is Keita and Ox is Ox so nothing more to say. We've lost numbers but look better right now and that's before we (hopefully) sign Lavia.

Selling Nat is the wrong decision unless we are bringing someone in. The lad mightn't suit our system but he can defend and actually likes defending which seems to be a rare thing in defenders these days.

Chelseas bid doesn't change anything, they know the fee is £50m but went short of it. That suggests they don't actually want him and are just trying to twist Brightons arm. Jacob Steinberg (who seems very clued into goings on at Chelsea) had an article about an hour before this news broke saying Chelsea wanted Caicedo done in time to play on Sunday.

Brighton aren't falling for that shite and either are we. He'll be a Liverpool player by COB tomorrow, Caicedo will be Chelsea player on deadline day.

Or Chelsea are bidding 48m because they know there's one fee for Liverpool and one for everyone else after us having about a decade of fucking them around at different times?
