I don’t agree with that. I saw today it was 6 years since the Dortmund game at Anfield. One of the best matches I, and I bet the 

majority of the 45k crowd, have ever seen.

 

Granted, it doesn’t have the glamour of the CL and the group stages are somewhat of a farce, but when you get to this stage, you want to win it as much as you do in the CL.

 

Given how good we are now, we shouldn’t take it for granted.

We'd have been made up had we beaten Sevilla, I don't understand the denigration of the competition at all really.

 

If West Ham won the competition it would be their first trophy for over 40 years, and their first in Europe for nearly 60 years.

I think you underestimate how much of a money grabbing shitshow they have made of this.

I just posted, it’s only 6 years ago since one of Anfield’s greatest games / nights.

That final still bugs me. I know we now have won bigger things since but i just can't shift the feeling. 

 

Gave that trophy away and part of me wants that correcting.

When we lost to Atletico under Benitez, I was as gutted as I was when lost to Atletico under Klopp.

 

When we lost to Real Madrid in Kiev, I was as gutted as I was when we lost to Sevilla in Basel.

 

Our expectations are higher these days. We shouldnt be forgetting where we were 6 years ago and how much those Man Utd / Dortmund / Villarreal wins meant / felt.
