A couple of key bits from my chat with @JBurtTelegraph: *Liverpool not interested in Riyad Mahrez - so turn your attention away from that. *Liverpool working on an "interesting" target to replace Coutinho. Not a name that is out there.

I know so much of this shite is nonsense but im fucking bored and pissed off with work

Interesting. Tallies with the Wilfried Bony stuff I’m hearing.

We don't need any more attacking mids we've got two of the best in the world and Firminho. I'm happy with the other midified options we're seemingly pursuing. Balance is what we've lacked and I'm made up to see it being restored. I was like a pig in shit watching big Virg the other night, more of that please.

Mahrez is happening right now so I’ve heard {taps nose}

*I reserve the right to proclaim myself as the ultimate itk if this is right. If it’s not, obviously something went wrong and it in no way invalidates the information I’ve just made up......I mean been given in good faith.

It's a curve ball like but what about Mario Gotze? Still only 25. Looks like he's started to recover from the illness he's had for a few years. He's been anonymous this season but has a lot of creativity. Maybe Klopp could get him back on track.

Klopp only wants loyal players as if he would sign a player who agreed to join his biggest rivals in a crucial part of the season, oh wait.

As a betting man I wouldn't look past Goetze or Lanzini at some stage, the latter more likely as he fits their profile of player to a tee.

With injuries and being 'rested' I think we are still a bit light.

Snippets from the full interview.

Jason Burt interview with Sachin Nakrani

  • Suspects Liverpool won't buy this month

  • Doesn't think we're interested in Mahrez

  • Thomas Lemar will be extremely expensive and Arsenal are the more likely destination

  • Klopp more likely to wait like with van Dijk

  • Liverpool want special young talent to replace Coutinho

  • Club feel like they were in a strong enough position now to let him go and have enough going forward (Lallana key in this, Klopp is a big fan)

  • Jason has links with Coutinho, Liverpool and Barcelona hence why he was able to break the news first

  • Says that everyone was very confident after the summer window that Liverpool would get their money and Coutinho would get his move in January (Salah's impact on Liverpool influenced that)

  • The deal has not been done to pay for van Dijk/Keita (no FSG balancing books)

  • Coutinho add-ons are for qualifying for the CL and Coutinho making ~50 apps over his time at Barca (Liverpool confident they get the full sum of money)

  • Jason says he has a clear idea of who Liverpool want

  • Says the player who Liverpool wants isn't achievable this month (Jason has been asked not to run the story yet)

All comes from a 25 minute interview he did with Anfield Indez.
