Utd have spent half a billion and will still need half a squad in the summer to replace that lot.

They'll need a fuck load more by the time Mourinho has finished. That's if he is still there after the summer window and they throw even more money at him to spend.

Surprised to see Herrerra's contract situation.  Top drawer player.   Hated on here because of who he plays for but by fuck we'd love him.

Hard to see any qualities when trying to look past his unrelenting snide shithousery. I'd like to see his face used to put out a fire

I hear Kieta brings these qualities too, along with his footballing ability.  We'll love him for it, they'll hate him.  Fickle old world is football.

Hard to argue with that, the more Suarez was hated by other fans the more I loved him.

He is on a free  - thats 1 mil a month - we are lucky they are not asking for him on loan with us covering half his wages.

Compare it to the Oxlade-Chamberlain fee when he was nearing the end of his contract.

Fuck Juve.

SAINTS PLAN ATTACKING BUYS

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed he is hoping to sign a new striker as soon as possible after the club was linked with Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.

He told Sky Sports: "We've got a couple of targets, and it will be important to try to bring them as quick as possible to improve not just inside but outside the pitch, to lift the confidence of everyone.”

When pressed on which position he will look to strengthen, he added: "Especially in our offensive

Imagine if we got 25-30 million for a double act like that? We should have used one of them to lower the cost as VVD from the start. Guessing we just wanted to get the deal done quickly to stop any haggling from them/us/and said players we want rid of and they want.

Yeah, £5m to take Can right now is actually not that bad an offer if you think about it.

Assuming they sign him on a 5-year deal, then an extra 6 months is worth 1/10 of the deal. That puts the overall value of Can at £50m - not bad at all.

Probably not worth taking, since we're already short of midfielders and he's worth more than £5m to us as a player (seeing as replacing him with Grujic or Milner might cost us top 4) but it's not a mingebag offer.

In this climate it totally is a mingebag offer. I'll say again - take Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's fee as an example. Granted there was a few more months in the contract and maybe some will rate him as a better player, but do those 2 factors account for a £30m+ swing?
