  1. Fucking incredible that Trent is on england duty when he hasnt played in any of our pre season games so far. Just when are clubs going to put their foot down about shite like this? That said, Jurgen wont be pleased with that display.

  2. Signing a player who's just made a name for themselves in a tournament is always fraught with caution, as we well know. However signing a player who made a name for themselves in a tournament all of 6 years ago and has done fuck all since to live up to the hype, that's a different kettle of fish. Real Madrid bought him off the back of that because he was a bright new thing and they wanted to be the ones who bagged him. And they did, because they could. Has he repaid their faith in him, has he lived up to the promise he showed which sparked their determination to get him? He's never had a decent season, let alone a standout one since that World Cup. I can't help but think his model looks play a huge part in the hype and the amount of social media followers he's got. If he was just a plain looking Joe Schmoe, nobody would cast him a second look, and his few 'moments' in the 2014 would be long forgotten about. Once again, they're buying into a myth that buying players who are unwanted at clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid means they're buying better players than others, especially us. When will they realise that if these players were still Real/Barca standard, if they ever were, those clubs would not be letting them go. They're happy to have a bottom-feeder club like the Bloos to take them off their hands.

  4. Blink are my absolute guilty pleasure, seen them live 5 times ( all before De Longe left), first time in 97 at Leeds as part or the Warped tour. They're better than given credit for, their first few albums were great, obviously Enema of the State took them mainstream, their next album after that wasn't the best but I really like the self titled offering released before their "hiatus". They should have called it a day when Delonge went off to pursue aliens, Matt Skiba is great and I love his band Alkaline Trio but he i square peg in round hole in present day Blink.

  5. I see Johnny H has posted in this thread, but I don't know what he said because I had to block him as I found him to be a tad racist on twitter, especially where Naby Keita is concerned. Anyone else found that?

  8. He's absolved himself of all blame. He's says the club have no strategy yet he's been picking players for them to sign for 3 years. He decides if the coach stays or goes. If he's so concerned he could use €800,000 of his weekly salary to pay 3 top players to run around and still have more money than Mane and Salah combined. And finally he could have told the club on June 10th he wanted to leave. In summary, fuck him the petulant little cunt.

  10. Get plenty of decent bands go over there when they tour the east coast, tends to be either first or last leg. Comedians tend to slag it a bit saying, they did the warm up and got rid of the shite in Perth. Perth city centre is fucking tiny mate. It’s a big suburban motherfucker. It’s like Speke for miles and fucking miles in every direction - not as rough as speke can be but that kind of suburban sprawl. nice for a visit, but I couldn’t live there. me missus has worked there a fair bit, I was staying in the hotel on one of the trips in east Perth, so I said ah I’ll go for a walk - walked maybe 4 mile up the road and I was in West Perth San Sebastián is superb, stayed there for a few days a few years back when travelling through Bilbao and down to Barcelona. this is the place we stayed at in Sam Sebastian think this Might be the cathedral the Ikurrina - brought one of these home. sociedad stadium, weather can be shite up there. For some reason the site has now bollocksed the images by 90 degrees. Havana and all of Cuba is pretty much awesome. Each of the cities I’ve been to over there has something different about it. we drove from one end to the other a couple of years back. Driving over there is awesome, plenty of games of chicken on ghe motorway as you try and overtake a horse and cart and a buss, with a tractor oncoming. if you get the chance to go, try and stay in a casa particular - basically staying in someone’s spare room, but they look after you well. we booked Thomas Cook one way flight to Holguin, picked up a car, drove to Santiago de Cuba, stayed a few nights, then drove to Cienfuegos for a few nights - place is boss, old French capital (I think), then headed to Havana for a few days - it’s proper expensive in the old town there now for ale, but we got invited to a private dance party which is as cool - bit strange getting there as someone just approached us in the street. it was pretty much in someone’s gaffe and some famous duckers have been there to see the Local dancers. was sound for a Bevy and a perv, clientele a bit like manumission. the architecture and history of the country are everywhere and it’s just awesome (in its proper sense) place to visit and see what can happen when a place is hugely prosperous, and the. Locked out of a system via Internal politics and external trade restrictions and embargos. santiago de Cuba: partying down at the beach, some terrible fucking lager. the casa particular Cienfuegos: Breakfast view from casa particular One of the vast old hotels being restored one that had been done my mate ‘Nelson’ the waterfront at night La Havana: Think this was the outside of our casa particular, it’s deffo the view from it we got caught in a downpour think this is the National Theatre swanky hotel: the little dance club previously frequented by Beyoncé or some such shite Indeed it is, massive envy of yer Spanish life man. I’d love to give it at least a year, EU exit May spike that, but we’ll see.

  11. here’s an early call. The new Everton signings won’t actually make them better and they’ll end up mid table like they always do.

  12. Ha! I remember Ray singing on Top of the Pops with The Kinks and a great big glob of snot fell out of his nose just as the camera was doing a close up shot. I think he was singing Dedicated follower of fashion. My favourite is Come Dancing but they had some fantastic songs. Kids with their shite rapping and crap that passes for songs cannot hold a candle to the groups of the 60's and 70's. There was some fucking great music in them days. Not like the utter dross now where the girls virtually have to get their tits out and spread their legs to have a hit.

  13. There must be a genetic explanation of why virtually all eastern European, slavic and balkan women are fit. Went to montenegro once and there's only about 15 people there but 14 of them are fit, the other is decent looking. I mean just random fit people all over the shop, bus drivers, cleaners. In a big Emglish city you can walk around all day, every day, and not see a single one. Even the ones who you're told are fit look like overly made up trouts.

  14. Does everything have to be a dig at the club? We had our valuation, they had theirs, we decided not to go past ours and moved on to a player more experienced at the level of football we expect to be playing in, for less money.

  19. Spent 5 days travelling around West Cork last summer, it was fucking beautiful. We stopped in 3 or 4 villages/towns every day. We caught Cobh on a nice say too, the views were incredible. My grandparents are from Cork so we used to spend summers down there as kids, 20+ years ago. Just a superb county.

  20. Fucking hell just reading about EA and UFC 4. They've really fucking took the piss. A month after launch they've added in game full adverts. Apparently its in the new NBA game, so I'd expect it in Madden and FIFA aswell. EA saying you don't have to watch them but the give you in game benefits so it's less intrusive. Taking the fucking piss, it's not a free game so fuck off with adverts. Just a way of getting that micro transaction money back. EA are massive cunts.

  23. Probably a lot more dangerous then compared to now. We first went in 97 and asked the girl on the reception where we should go for a night out and she said whatever you do, do not turn right outside this hotel and make sure you get a cab back later to drop you right at the door. Obviously we turned right. Loads of Biker and rock Bars which were sound. I’d do as I’m told now I’m old and a shithouse

  24. The Alcatraz tour is brilliant. We went on it before we had the kids and never stopped going on about it whenever it got mentioned. Shame I fucked it up when we took them. Oh, and if you’re thinking of walking the Golden Gate Bridge, that little car park on the opposite side that looks like a bus terminal is actually not a bus terminal and you’ve got no option but to walk it all the way back as there’s no public transport. Middle of August and it was fucking freezing too

  29. I did similar about 18 years ago trying to get to a mate's wedding. Me and my mate were drunk and stoned for most of the journey and had instructions written on a beer mat, no smartphones and we went by rail with no planning whatsoever. Highlights included arguing with a ticket inspector (apparently we were on the wrong train and also in first class, but hard to tell) who was horrible until I gave him a beer then he sat off drinking with us for the next couple of hours. Saw loads of cities we shouldn't have really as we were supposed to be heading for the Czech border. At one point we flipped a coin on fucking the wedding off and heading to Berlin as Iggy Pop was playing. Ended up doing the last 100 odd miles in a taxi and arrived in the back of the church just as the bride arrived.

  31. It’s brilliant there. Choose wisely were you stay though. Skid row and 5 star luxury share the same corner. Oh, and book Alcatraz months in advance. Don’t be that nobhead who says we’ll sort it when we get out there. Apparently a nice boat trip AROUND the island is not a good consolation prize.

  32. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Elliot, Brewster, Williams and Jones this season. I would also like to see a decent signing. I do think the champions of the world and the league should be able to buy a decent player to strengthen for the season ahead.

  33. I'm more worried about our side evolving. Our front 3 are getting near their 30s so is Henderson then you have Milner. Thiago is 30 hes good for this upcoming season but hardly future planning. Thats the kicker with Werner and even Havertz for chelsea buying players before they are near their peak. We do need more depth due to the sheer intensity of this season and letting Gini go would be madness because of this, were going to need his energy and the fact he never gets injured. Jones, Elliot and Brewster are not solutions to anything this season, bright cameos maybe, in my opinion its to soon for them to make the regular step up to one of the best sides in the world. None of this is throwing the toys out the pram stuff it just seems obvious that we need new faces and I'm not FSG out or anywhere near but I don't think its outrageous that they invest in their own business, FFP isnt a season by season thing they have plenty of time to balance the books. We have older sellable assets on big money who will be shifted at some point. I think we need a striker. People go bat shit when you say it but our front 3s finishing has been off since the beginning of the year. What's our conversion rate? a new face might give them a kick up the arse but more importantly be able to finish chances created, Firmino is my favourite player but hes been off it more than on it and nobody comes close to being good enough to replacing him now and then. Maybe Minamino can, he looked good versus Arsenal before Jones came on then the shaped changed and we looked poor again. A couple of new faces and changes in play.

  34. One that’s not been mentioned which I can highly recommend is Sarajevo. Huge visible history WWI/Seige, A fault line between Europe and Ottoman empires, culturally heavy, great food (best Burek in the world/great coffee/grilled meats), winter sports, architecture and there’s something about sun down over the city and the minarets and the call to prayer as you’re settling into a beer and a good book.

  37. Tbilisi is fucking great, a beautiful city in a great country. The food and drink are also top notch and really cheap. Make it happen, you can fly to Georgia on budget airlines now and when I arrived passport control greeted me with a bottle of wine. I have been to Saigon/HCMC as well though didn't really do it justice as it was a base to go elsewhere but they have cracking rooftop bars and beer hoi in the streets. I preferred Hanoi though went there during Chinese New year. Not been to Havana though sadly

  38. We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

  39. https://socceronsunday.com/article/james-rodriguez-seeks-assurances-that-everton-is-a-real-place/ James Rodriguez is reportedly seeking assurances that Everton is a real place before joining up with manager Carlo Ancelotti for a third time. The Columbian is expected to complete a medical in Spain today. “I’m excited,” Rodriguez told Soccer on Sunday. “But obviously I want to confirm that Everton is a real place before signing a contract. When I google ‘Everton’, it says the club is in Liverpool. That makes no sense — how can one club be inside another? Sounds fucked up and a bit sexual, if I’m honest.” “I had never heard of Everton until Carlos WhatsApp’d,” said the midfielder. “My first reaction was, ‘He’s been at the crack pipe again and is making up words’. But it turns out that Everton is a real club. I was amazed.” “I have no idea how to get there though,” added Rodriguez. “Possibly nobody does.”
