Its got to be the lamest defense ever heard. Basically it wasn't his cut of the Crouch transfer fee that he admitted thought he was entitled to but instead it was actually a gift that he had almost forgotten about despite the fact that he personally opened the account is his dogs name. Added to that he cant write , is too stupid to understand tax and relies entirely on an accountant to tell him what to do. Now some nasty policeman is starring at him and putting him off telling the story .. sorry giving his "evidence ". I'm surpised he can tell who is staring at him with that dodgy eye!

Fuck me if he gets off with this he'll be Harry Houdini never mind Redknapp.

TAX EVASION TRIAL

BBC Sport's James Pearce on Twitter: "Redknapp repeatedly tells Court that he wasn't telling truth in the News of World interview and Monaco money wasn't a bonus. Redknapp says if money was bonus "I've gained nothing. Portsmouth would have saved some tax. I'm not interested in saving Portsmouth money."

TAX EVASION TRIAL

BBC Sport's James Pearce on Twitter: "Redknapp shows frustration with prosecution: "Do you think that me + Mr Mandaric are going to have 2 different stories? Are we that stupid?"

TAX EVASION TRIAL

BBC Sport's James Pearce on Twitter: "Redknapp says not important if he tells truth to News of World, only needs to tell truth to police. Redknapp tells jury that what he said to News of World was "all a story" and "I wanted to get him off the phone". Prosecution then said News of World reporter "caught you out Mr Redknapp. You decided to speak to him and let the cat out of the bag"."

Anyone reckon 'Arry might be proper fucked here? I kept thinking that he'd just pay a shedload of money and walk away.

Think he's been caught out in a massive way and that's why he keeps lashing out in court. I too, thought he'd get a massive fine but the prosecution can smell blood.

Just keep asking him open-ended questions and let his need to gab away cause him to dig his own hole, seems to be the prosecution's strategy here. And it appears to be working. He seems totally oblivious to the fact his credibility is being shot to shit, what with all the childish tantrums and jokes in the courtroom. A policeman staring at him in the courtroom? Newsflash 'Arry, when you're in the dock facing questions, don't be surprised that you're the centre of attention.

Wtf? Are we talking players sold on for a profit, or in general?

Holloway said he was given this deal as his wages at Blackpool were much lower than the industry standard.

He seemed to indicate that this situation, while not exactly common practice is not unheard of either.

To me it sounds like a massive conflict of interest as the manager usually gives the ok on which players can leave.

If a manager feels hes on his way out then whats stopping him selling a player to earn a few bob before he goes?

Sounds a bit like what Redknapp did with Crouch when moving from Director of Football to Manager and therefore losing 5% of future transfer fees.

I would of thought that if that is the case with Arry over Crouch then it would be in his contract or at least in a written agreement.

Something involving that sort of money wouldnt be a verbal agreement unless you dont want people to know about it.
