It would be nice if we settled on a formation, whatever that may be, pretty early in the season

 

Change spearing for plessis and that's whet i'd go for. I like spearing but think he's more of an attacking/box-to-box than holding midfielder, is he not?

With Keane on board I really wonder what formation Rafa will prefer. Keane has to play in the centre IMO, either as a partner to Torres in 4-4-2 or behind him in 4-2-3-1.

 

My fear is that he wants to play Keane to the right. It will be another waste of recources.

YEAH I SAID IT Pennant should definitely play on the wing, considering he's a natural winger instead of a natural striker like KUYT!Transfers, Injuries and Olympic footy has taken away our best players from those positions for now-ACCEPT IT and make do with what we've got WITHOUT COMPLAINING!but don't play people out of their natural positions, that's not clever in fast paced leagues like the premiership.Save all that for europe.

If Finnan was fit i'd play him at right back, and if Babel was available he'd be on the left.

 

I prefer Pennant out wide in a 4-4-2 to both Kuyt and Benayoun because he gives us a bit of width and has the ability to beat his man.

 

I don't think Dirk on the right in a 4-4-2 is a nice thought, and Benyoun is just too flimsy. We really need to get someone in for the wide position(s).
