Darwin wasn't booked.

I always thought Taylor was a red manc and tweeted something a couple of years ago when he was appointed for our game with them. Goldbridge replied to it and said United fans were more upset than we are because they're convinced he's a City fan and he gives them nothing.

He reffed quite anti-city on Sunday. But you've got to ask why he's getting 2 massive games running. Are there really no other refs than him, Tierney and Oliver?

This is 100% true. I absolutely never do this, quite the opposite, yet a discussion in the pub the other day (I wasn’t even involved in it) about who those contributing would prefer to win the league started with one saying..

”definitely not Liverpool, for obvious reasons”

He then looked at me. He wasn’t joking.

If my humility in the face of success those clowns can only dream of still gets that impact, then being exposed to the dozens of ‘reds’ who couldn’t even name the losing XI in the 1950 FA Cup Final, yet still get in their faces at work, the pub etc. has certainly had an impact.

Throw in the anti Scouse brain washing they’ve mostly had their entire lives,  and any positivity towards LFC is very limited. I’d even go as far as to say that some, not all, hate us more than United.

They mostly pretend not to care at all, but they do really. To be fair, I also pretend not to care about the Leeds results.

The answer to the discussion, as an aside, was City (Surprisingly, not Arsenal). They care not about their cheating, as long as they beat Liverpool, United etc.

It's refs like him that make having someone like Clattenburg employed worthwhile. Taylor has an absolute style of reffing and its changes given the type of match. In the big games he doesn't make decisions, Sundays game a case in point, he avoids trouble like the plague. Didn’t watch it all but no doubt he threw out a couple of token gesture yellow cards late on, he certainly let a few stonewall yellows go in the parts I watched. If you think back to all the times he's pissed us off it's usually by not making a decision rather than making a bad one. The point I'm making is we can be really aggressive on Sunday and he will let it go both ways.

It's coming from the top. It's why Oliver never gave us the blatant Doku pen. It's why they they let every foul go in the big games so they don't have to give 2 yellows. Rather than actually apply rules, they apply rules which doesn't allow them to be blamed. The biggest reason why that fucking weasel Webb should go.

Spot on yeah.

I've gone into detail on this before too based on my own experiences after moving down south

Well that’s it we turn up and do the business this time his decisions won’t make any difference we need a reason for him not to be relevant

I dug out my previous thoughts on this....bit long sorry but sums it up for me.

The fans being up for it so much more against us is so true...

They were standing across most parts of the ground last night - you never see that usually for their league games.

We really are everyones cup final aren't we.

For me it is down to our history and fact we have across the decades had rivalries and competed for honours with all these clubs....The oil cheats don't have that history and there isn't that feeling towards them.

It is also very much IMO down to this as well....

One of the biggest reasons we are so widely hated  is largely down to fact that we have 'fans' all over the rest of the country, and supporters of other clubs have to put up with our fans every day at school, work, in the ale house etc etc

Other clubs (Man Utd aside) just don't have same presence all over - Man City certainly don't and therefore are not universally hated....it must (and i know it does because i have heard people say it does) really nark people who have to listen to their local people, born/raised etc in their local town give it the big one about LFC to them....

People take it genuinely badly when what they see as 'glory hunters' basically, in their eyes are betraying their own towns/cities to 'support' us and compound it by giving it the big one.

I moved to London years ago and I remember a West Ham fan at our work saying to me how much he hated all the 'cockney reds' at work, and how as a result he developed a real hatred of LFC and i remember Tottenham and Arsenal fans saying exactly the same thing, there was a real hatred and hostility towards these fellow London lads who were Liverpool fans, and a lot of piss taking too..and thing is these 'fans' they refer to are often the worst sort - clueless, sneering about the locals 'shit' teams and often so lacking in knowledge about game - I found that myself when i was latched onto by some of them as a Liverpudlian.

They then have a massive presence online too which then builds up the perception in other clubs fans minds all our fans are same dickheads/clueless pricks....and it builds hatred.

Imagine being a born and bred native of say Southampton for example and having to listen to another born and bred native of Southampton call Southampton FC shite and go on about how 'we' (Liverpool) are better than you/giving it the big one after beating you.....that happens in more or less every city and town across the land - and other clubs fans hate us as a result, because our club is a constant presence to them day in day out.

Man Utd are the only other club with same presence and they are hated a lot too.

Add that to a large dislike of us amongst people old enough to have lived through our dominance, and the generally quite high levels of anti scouse sentiment that exists and it explains the hate pretty well.

It will change if Man City dominate for a long time...My lad is 11 and he says there are two Man City fans in his class at school - i know from speaking with their parents that they are not Mancs and the one lad openly said to my lad "I support Man City because they are the best team"....this will grow and become more prevalent across the country and when it does then fans of other clubs will start being bothered about them - but it will take a long time.

Arsenal would of course likely batter Luton regardless, but fucking hell does everything just have to fall their way this season?

Id like to think there’s a home game they’ll shit the bed in like they normally do if it’s not this it’s around the corner

Funny they don’t have the confidence in Coote for these games isn’t it?

Haaland hat trick incoming tonight…

…although I think the criticism is phrased very harshly, I do think there is an element of truth to it. As a goal scorer, he’s phenomenal, one of the best ever…. He doesn’t offer much else though.

What I've been hearing for years from Leeds orcs is along the lines of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", thereby justifying their overt support of citeh over man utd. Should be noted that (you'll already know this @YorkshireRed) Leeds are the Evertonians of Yorkshire, in that they truly believe they're a much bigger club than they are, and that their obsessional hatred of another club (in their case man u) outstrips the support of their own. You'd have thought a Yorkshire based fan set would welcome Liverpool winning the league over either manc club but somehow their hatred of us is almost as visceral as that they have towards united. Fucking weirdos.

It's nothing more than simple jealousy. And they can write city off, as everyone does, as lottery winners. While they truly believe they're a massive club, just like bloos, it's impossible to reconcile just how shit they are in comparison to us and the red mancs.

One of the best ever? Carlton Cole would clear 20 a season in that side. De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva and Foden are far more important to them He’s a drippy emo gimp.

Which will be well behind Haaland.

Haaland will go down as one of the best goal scorers of all time, unfortunately.

One of the best footballers, that’s a different question…
