Usually I'd hope arsenal win over city, but it'd be nice for arsenal to get a taste of what we've had for the last few years, and for English footy in general to have had a good long laugh about us, then belatedly realise we were the only thing keeping it from looking like Scottish footy on steds this past few years.

It's funny, because my gut feel is I want anyone to win but the cheats as it would be good for the game. But actually what would be good for the game is these fuckers getting done for their cheating. And the only way I see that happening is more and more people get fed up of their cheating. So that'll only happen if they win, stop others and people get bored and start switching on another league. Maybe the London media will start shouting a bit louder if arsenal's loss for the title is painful instead of pitiful this year.

If they had won 7 titles on the spin then would the media even  be shouting about it now ,  because even the Red mancs and our brilliant teams of the 70s and 80s couldn't even get close to that .

Its ruining the game and not healthy for the so called best league in the world ( its not imo ) to be turned into a monopoly run by a nation state .

If they receive no punishment or just a slap on there wrist for all the cheating they have done then the game In this country is  finished and they along with Saudi fc will just spend and spend .

Arteta was with Guardiola at City for a few years before he got the Arsenal gig wasnt he? You would think he would’ve been aware, as would Guardiola, of the financial skullduggery City were involved in. Looking at that earlier post from An Tha that illustrates just how brilliant Arsenal’s form has been over the last few months. Despatching teams with ease. Scoring shitloads of goals. If they do miss out to City which I hope they do by the way, I wonder how he will feel being on the receiving end of what we’ve had to compete against when we’ve had near perfect seasons and missed out? I don’t really believe in karma but it is quite funny. Something for him to reflect on anyway…

So 91 pts was the final winning total.

That was with abu dhabi winning every game on the run in.

I'm calling the run in the last 7 games after the draw at man utd.

So we would have need to get to 92 pts to have won it. We were on 71 heading into the 7 games.

That would mean that after the 2-2 draw with the mancs we would have needed to win all of our last 7 - if we'd have done that we would have won it.

Palace

Fulham

Everton

West Ham

Tottenham

Villa

Wolves

We won 3, drew 2 and lost 2.

Meaning we dropped 10 pts in those 7 games picking up 11 out of 21....we finished 9 pts behind abu dhabi.

It was genuinely within reach wasn't it...But sadly we didn't reach out and grab it by winning what were 7 winnable games.

Called Abu Dhabi winning all their remaining games back in March. Didn't drop a point after they played us at Anfield on the 11th. Unreal form from the cheats.

The double whammy of the draw at Old Trafford and the 0-3 against Atalanta was where we lost it imo. Win either of them two, or even just draw them both, and we don't lose to Palace. Honestly the misses in that Palace game were almost unbelievable. Jota especially, usually so reliable.

I doubt we'd have won the rest of the games anyway even if we'd have beaten Palace. But we'd have gone a hell of a lot closer.

I genuinely think that the only way to beat them is to get into an insurmountable lead early - if they are either top or within range come January, they’ll do enough to win it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the only two seasons since 17/18 in which they haven’t been the best team from January onwards were 19/20 (when the league was effectively over, and even then they were only one point worse than us from that point) and 21/22, when we were 7 points better than them from the Chelsea draw on 2nd Jan onwards, but had given ourselves too much to do.

This season, I think Arsenal basically matched them points-wise since the New Year (they were level, but City had what for them is the guaranteed 3 points of a game hand while in a title race) but it was never, ever going to be enough.
