Even got the hesitant and occasionally mistaken written English thing nicely thought through.

I'm impressed, oh loyal subject.

Although you'd be better off being completely illiterate in Saudi Arabia - just in case tweeting that you don't like apricot jam, or something, ends up literally costing you your apricots.

They have all my love and compassion.

The families of the millions of Iraqis that have died as a result of the US-UK’s campaign to bring them democracy and total freedom of speech are still waiting for someone to explain to them as well. To use your language … Go and tell them then fuck off.

When you descend into a "tit for tat" argument no matter the circumstances you lose the high ground. We all know the world is fucked.

It's a farce. Nobody outside of that country cares one iota for it. No one. A pointless sideshow without any footballing merit. That so many players I used to adore have taken the grubby cash to go there is horrible. My respect and love for Gerrard, Henderson, Gini, Bobby et al has gone. Hopefully it will disappear as quickly as the Chinese one.

I don't think it will.

I was pondering why this seems to be sticking unlike the attempts in China for example.  And apart from the middle east's expertise in sportswashing, it's the totally different thinking towards money and status in the middle east.  Money and status seem to be celebrated like nowhere else.  These players will be treated unbelievably "well" and have the red carpet rolled out just to go for a piss, in some weird soulless Celebritycashland.

They'll be loving it, especially as more familiar faces and names join them.

“Imagine” is what many people on here do when it comes to the Middle East.

You’re in good company.

He is, because I won't watch it, because I believe it's tantamount to supporting a regime and a culture that is backward, inhumane and incredibly uncivilised.  For more or less the same reasons I wouldn't watch Israeli football.
