Elliot looked inexperienced but he’ll learn from this.

Was bound to happen in his first champions league game, and this was probably the best possible time for him to get it out they way and learn from it.

I reckon Klopp went slightly experimental with this one, knowing we have some good strength on the bench if he needs to quickly adapt and we have the home fixture to right any mistakes that might have been made.

As it happens he made plenty of early subs to wrestle back control of the game.

Pundits can drool over city beating shit like Sporting 5-0 all they want but that's a real European performance. Not playing particularly well, giving the ball away and being under the cosh a bit, then to score 2 goals away at Inter to win the game.

Bring on yer Internationale, bring on yer Roma by the score. Barcelona, Real Madrid who the fuck you're trying to kid? It's Liverpool that we all adore!

City beat a team that lost 3 group games and are captained by a Liverpool reject from years ago. We’ve just beaten the CHAMPIONS OF ITALY on their own ground without conceding a shot on target. Fowler’s the only one on BT who seems to appreciate how impressive that is.

We were under the cosh in the second half but defended well. They weren't exactly peppering shots at our goal and Allisson wasn't really troubled throughout the match.

It was the perfect incapsulation of how we defend. We left a shit load of spaces, but the Centre backs covered everything in the end and Alisson didn't have to do a thing.

The midfield and fullbacks are to blame here, really. They left the spaces, too many. That's what has to improve.

At this stage of the competition you shouldn’t expect a walk over, unless you’re playing Porto, and so it proved.

I said at the weekend we seem to have recovered some of the “mentality monster” attitude and that was evident I thought tonight.

Once we started playing as we can, and the changes kicked that into gear, they didn’t have an answer, good as they obviously are, and I expect us to finish the tie at Anfield, but it’s only half time and games can be turned around……as we well know!

Really good result.  Close first half, then in the second we were under the cosh until we get a corner, finished off well by Firmino.  That took the wind out of Inter's sails, and their intensity disappeared, making it easy for us.  Standout performances from Konate and Thiago, with Fabinho having an excellent first half too.  While we relinquished control at half time, the opposition still didn't have a shot on target all game.

Both full backs were poor for most of the game, as was Harvey, who looked a bit off the pace, and Firmino when he came on, who was just giving the ball away.  A combination of two of those poor players ultimately made the difference though, so it just shows, it only takes a second to redeem yourself.

You forgot to mention that Virgil Van Dijk was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. He was like an 18 year old playing an under 14 match at times. A monster of a player.

As for Ferdinand and anyone else who thought it was undeserved or a fluke, the score was 2-0, you just suck on that until after the next game and see how you feel then.

Not many commentators call Utd's 1999 European Cup win a fluke or undeserved (which it was), so Ferdinand can shut the fuck up.

Jota injured Klopp just confirmed.  Ankle/ligament.

Literally just a week with a totally fit squad and wallop a key man goes down....just ahead of 7 games in 20 days up to 2nd leg of this including a final.

Diaz will need to settle in quickly now....looks like he can and will.

Hope Jota is fit soon, deserves spot in side at wembley after doing so much to get us there.
