A couple? Almost 10 years ago now...

Annoying thing with Tom was that he was actually a very talented youngster - He was certainly the best player in the Academy teams for a period. All went to shit for the lad when his old man put ideas in his head that we were holding him back.

Yeah a decade ago. He must still only be in his mid 20s;  he deffo had a swagger. It seemed every club he played for he gave off the vibe they were lucky to have him. As you said his dad seemed to think he should have went to Barca.

I think this lad is going to surprise everyone.   Four years ago, Preston fans were shocked he was getting a new contract.   He's stuck his head down, worked his bollocks off and became their player of the year.

Now gets the chance of a lifetime to push on.  It won't be for want or trying like some lazy passengers we've got.

What lazy passengers have we got?

Yep. Apparently unhappy with his lack of playing time. Can understand it to a degree although we dont get to see what goes on in training.

Still going to be tough for him to get into this Southampton side, obviously not as tough as it is to get into the front line in our side of course.

Adams and Ings have got a good understanding between them, so I can't see Taki ousting either of those. Hasenhuttl seems to be a big fan of Stuart Armstrong too, so that leaves Taki up against Djenepo, Redmond & Walcott for that final attacking position.

All those players you mentioned will

get a knock Taki will be all set to make

his debut for Southampton and Shane Long will come in out of nowhere like origi and start ahead of him.

Haha! Poor Taki. I hope that if the deal does go through, that he hits the ground running.

I would really like the lad to be a success here - we seen first hand just how effective he can be when he played against us for Salzburg.

Yeah, a bit of rhythm and experience in the league would either set him up for a good fee, or give him momentum to come back better.  Or give us the leverage to deliver the perfect swap deal to bring Ings back.

Hope we dont have to wait 4 years, with our injury record by then Paul o Grady would be playing centre half.

I wouldn’t say he’s lazy as such, he’s just not very good.

I think the character and attitude of the squad as a whole, is pretty much unquestionable tbh.

He's definitely lazy.

Even Alisson and Bobby laughed about it in that quiz thing they did.

Josh King compared to Ian Rush on the BBC website?

King can play wide of course which will suit Everton when they play 4-3-3.

This time last year he was close to joining Manchester United of course, but he has failed to score in the Championship this season.

With 48 Premier League goals to his name - the same as Freddie Ljungberg or Ian Rush - he's no slouch.
