Coronavirus could prevent Liverpool from winning the Premier League title

It's good news other countries are re starting their leagues.

In other countries there doesnt appear to be the same level of opposition from clubs and players to re start as in the PL. Sure, you may have a club in Italy or Spain voicing opposition but you dont have 6 clubs anywhere else using the current virus situation to scrap relegation, fighting the league at every turn to re start.

We’re comfortably the best team in the league, miles ahead and have basically said nothing, we’re complete bastards apparently. Only interested in trophies.

Absolute shite at the bottom, fighting every step of the way against a return for completely selfish reasons are plucky underdogs just trying to stay alive.

Talking to a Manc yesterday he said he started off saying void the league to wind up fans and now he said he's saying "ahh just give it them it doesn't mean anything" we will put asterix everywhere.

In my opinion the club shouldn't even get an asterix no matter how the season ends, it's not the club's doing, we haven't tainted the title through unsportsmanship. If anything city's previous titles are far more deserving an asterix. Eitherway I'm not to arsed. I'll wear that asterix like a badge of honour if needs be.

Unbelievable. Is this the 'best' worst excuse to try and prevent the league re starting? Did this clown not know our 'kids' beat a virtual full strength everton?

Jurgen Klopp's starting XI could be the deciding factor in the Premier League's European qualification and relegation battles this season, one club executive claims.

Liverpool sit six points away from glory, and could have the title wrapped up with eight games remaining if Manchester City lose to Watford and the Reds beat Everton in their next scheduled fixtures.

That could allow them to coast through the rest of the campaign, protecting their first-team squad and fielding a C-team in the Premier League - just like they did against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup earlier this term.

'We saw what Liverpool did in the cups, so why wouldn't they do the same once they've won the league?' the unnamed executive told the ***

'Jurgen Klopp could just tell his first team to go away for their own safety, which would be understandable.

'But if they put out a shadow side in matches they would have won, and those points become crucial, it warps the league.

How can that be sporting integrity?'

The Reds fielded their youngest ever starting line-up against Shrewsbury, as a side with an average age of 19 edged past the League One side 1-0 while Klopp and the A-team jetted to Qatar to win the Club World Cup.

Another exceptional circumstance amid the coronavirus pandemic could lead to an even more drastic line-up decision by the German boss, decisions which could prove costly to relegation threatened sides - with Aston Villa and Brighton still to face the Reds for a second time in 2019-20.

The issue is the latest raised by clubs outside of the top-six on Project Restart, with sides battling against staging matches at neutral venues in another sporting integrity row.

It’s pathetic how many reasons have they thought up in the last few weeks to try and deny us the title. It’s embarrassing and hopefully when we het the trophy and this is all over we can look back at the likes of ex-pros and commentators who have used a global pandemic for their own shitty agendas.

Nobody seems to mention the mid-table sides (like Everton) who have absolutely fuck all to play for apart from obviously their cup final which is the first game back.

That happens anyway. Every year.

Brighton's plan seems to be for thousand of reds to turn up and Anfield and fuck it up for everyone else.

A couple of weeks back i would have been happy for Brighton and Villa to beat us to send West Ham down, now I want all 3 gone. Bournemouth and Norwich deserve to stay up for being relatively quiet about it.

That could have happened regardless of COVID19.

Brighton are making themselves sound like a complete set of cunts over this.

I hope we batter them out of spite &

when we score, our players group together and sing “Where’s your famous atmosphere?”.

If Jurgen could be arsed he could just state that he wants the record points tally and will be playing strong teams throughout.

He could also state that despite this he’d be in his right to play the kids as it’s only what everyone else would do if they were lucky enough to have such a big lead.

I can’t decide if once we win it, rest players and have them ready for next season or with Citeh in the playing in the FA Cup & CL after we’ll have finished, keep going and keep our sharpness for 20/21.

There was more chance of us resting players had the season carried on as normal as a lot of them had played virtually non-stop for two years. Now they won’t want to go ring rusty after a break so they’ll want to play.

Ben Mee talking sense.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52587901

Basically, he's saying that neutral venues aren't ideal, but it's not a massive hardship, in the circumstances.  Also, the return of football - even if it's only in empty stadia on the telly - will give people a bit of a boost.
