All considered, we've done really well against a vastly better team. Some good last ditch defending and a great finish by Origi.

I would add that's he's his own man, too. Stirridge tried his usual passive-aggressive posturing but he lost Klopp a long time ago.

We were hanging on at the end of the half there, but then we could have made it 2-0. 

 

Credit to Origi fo checking his run and getting back onside. Coutinho played him in, and he had the right idea to dink it over the keeper. Just not quite enough loft, although to be fair, the goalie came out quick. 

 

The execution wasn't quite there in the finish, but he had the right idea, and the most pleasing aspect was the checked run. We have other strikers on our books who would have been offside there.

Well in Divy, could of done better there but fuck it a goal and some great hold up play. Moreno, Lovren, Sakho all been very good. Milner as industrious as ever, Henderson hasn't completed a pass yet is get Allen on for him.

We are facing a very talented, very well drilled team and we are holding our own. You have to expect a team of Dortmund's quality to give you some pressure. Beautiful away goal by Origi, shame he couldn't get that 2nd. Should have hit it early.

Also, in a shocking turn of events, the best commentary team I've heard all season is on the stream I'm watching on, and it's two lads with American accents.  Brad Friedel and someone else I've never heard.

 

Respectful without being fawning, knowledgeable about the game and most importantly, focused on the action on the pitch.  Well in to ... FS1, whatever that is.

Scoreline is excellent but can't wait till we're more like Klopp's team and less like Rodger's.   Barely strung two passes together all night, whilst Klopp's team zips it about with ease and pace but at the end of the day 0-1 is all that matter's right now.

Brilliant first half that. Quieten the crowd, stay organised, and hit them on the break. They look very fragile at the back. We've worked hard at the front to keep them on their toes. Henderson has run alongside a lot of their players today. Can has been none existent. Sakho and Lovren having to work very hard with no protection. Sakho in particular has been excellent. Milner working hard in the absence of anyone else in the mf. Origi, apart from his goal, has worked really hard, as has Lallana. It's all going more or less to plan, but can we continue to hang on with no central midfield?

Overall assessment on the half is that the score so far is excellent. On the balance of play they are a bit unlucky to be behind, but on the other hand, it could have been two there right at the end of the half. 

 

There is a gulf in class as they are the better team, but we are not quite as bad as many would have you believe. We are a threat to them too, and with Sturridge and Firmino there are other attacking options to hurt them as the game wears on. 

 

So far so good. Can't wait for the second half.
