We haven't been terrible, but in comparison to the team from last year, we're light years behind. Absolutely a different team with a different mentality. We've gone from being at least as sharp as Madrid to a poor side with little special about them at all. We've gone from a side with Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge, Coutinho all ripping defence to bits, to Borini working hard or Boloteli... not working hard.

I actually don't think Lucas has been that bad.

Everyone else is getting a foot in here and there, often making up a lot of ground to do so. Hes walking around arriving too late to be of any use at all. I think its incumbent on a player whos not moving to position yhemselves in order to make the odd intervention.

defensively the best half we've had this season, Marcelo's cross was just superb tbf. Midfield doing quite well too, lack of Gerrard means there's no need to carry his water and all 3 mfs work like a unit, doing their job instead of covering SG's ass. Think Lucas plays too deep sometimes forcing CBs back. I'd like to see Coutinho on for Lallana, slows the game and offers nothing, other lads doing ok, given our frontmen are often isolated and against 2-3 world class defenders.

Watching the game on ESPN Brasil where Sorin, the Argentinian player who played a long time here, was saying about Marcovic that he seems to have none of the pace he had at Benfica and was really surprising.

He's a failure, sorry. Him and Lallana off for Sterling and Stevie - we all say we want to see him forward, well now's the time.

We're getting no playmaking from either Marcovic or Lallana.

There was a moment around 25 minutes where he ran a full 50 yards at full-pelt to bail Manquillo out, then when he took the ball off of Isco he then took it forward at full pace to the edge of the Real box all by himself.

Very impressed with him tonight.

I was impressed with that also but he was shattered after it and the goal came from his side a minute later. needs to know when to take breathers.
