To be honest I don't think this is too bad a time to play them. They looked ok first game, better than we did, but I expect them to be rustier now than in November/December.

 

The main point is they don't play a stifling game. They will allow us to play with some space to utilise our speed on the counter. While they will give us more trouble than Southampton did, I expect us to have much more fluency in attack than we had first game.

 

I actually expect us to at least nick a draw. Maybe 2-2 or something.

I'd like to see something similar, but we won't. Rodgers prefers the pressing high up the pitch which nicks us the odd goal, to a holding midfielder that presses, enabling us to concede less goals. It's a balance that worked last season, to be fair. Whether it will without the pure genius of Suarez, who knows.

 

You're right though, one of our best finishers is sat in front of the back not really offering it any protection. Whilst the energetic players capable of tracking runners are fluffing chances at the other end.
