That was dismal. Ok came back twice, but any team with serious designs on a top four place needs to be beat 10 man Newcastle. 3 at the back needs to be ditched. We don't seem to have any idea how to put Suarez and Sturridge in the same team without losing our width, or losing control of the midfield.

Skrtel possibly the exception. Henderson managed his worse display of the season.

Bench is paper thin , any other top side would have had a couple of decent subs that would haveseen these off

We have zero control of the midfield with 3 defenders. It's pointless having 2 of the best strikers in the league if you can't get the ball to them.

Rubbish performance, would have been well harsh on Newcastle had we won that. Really confused with what Brendan is doing this season, we have had one or two decent performances all season and the rest of the time we've been either average or complete shit.

Some players played good in short periods but overall that was a shit performance from the team.The game was there for the taking and we came out with a slow tempo, Moses was terrible and performances like this and Southampton are making me doubt a top 4 place.

I'm really concerned that we don't look like we know what we are meant to be doing, it's beyond a joke now. And any team with Henderson expected to dominate midfield is in trouble. Very poor all round though.

No Coutinho meant no decent link up play, and no Lucas meant no one wanting to make a tackle in that space in front of the defence.

 

An abundance of CBs just seemed to result in no one taking charge.

 

We've got a defence and an attack, but little in between.

Lot of this has to be laid at Rodgers' feet. Every fecking game he is outmanaged in the second half. His substitutions are useless and he couldn't motivate a 15 year old boy in Bangkok fecking whorehouse.

 

We came out shite in the second half - again. Stevie and Henderson are completely useless.

One things clear whatever formation we play we are fucked against anyone good from long range as no one closes them down, I fear lampard and yaya against us.

Deserved.  Poor mentality, no urgency for most of the game with an unacceptable casual approach with a man advantage.  At no time did we look to take advantage of the spare man and stretch the play with a high tempo.  If it was a tactical decision than really have to question Rodgers decision making and approach, considering he did seem to harp on about 'courage', last season.  This performance has become endemic.

It's scarcely credible that a team playing like that can be top of the league. One thing is certain, if we don't improve dramatically over the rest of the season, we won't stay up there for long.

Maybe it was the international games that did it, but we looked lethargic. It was especially disappointing that we were pedestrian coming out for the 2nd half. We should have come out all guns blazing against their 10 men.

 

That said, we were a Luis crossbar hit from victory. Meh.

Probably missed lucas but disagree about paper thin squad. It had nothing to do with the game today.

 

The defence lets kebab have acres of space and have a free shot. Mignolet doesnt move his feet for the goal and has a shallow dive. We then have a man spare for the whole of the 2nd half and start at a slow pace.

 

We gave the ball away for fun, moses being one of the worst offenders. Sorry, I didnt see much from him even when he went wide.

 

Rodgers didnt change anything today to influence the game. Not for the first time.

 

Far too many of our players cant keep the ball down when shooting. How many times did the ball go over the bar?

You can't play 3 at the back when all your CB's look cumbersome, it's a recipie for disaster. Rodgers won't learn though, he is determined to cut his nose off to spite his face.

 

We should have pissed that game against 10 men but for some reason we looked unmotivated and lacking concentration all over the pitch.

 

If we get a top 4 spot i'd be amazed.
