Not sure if anyone else has caught it but Misfits has to be one of the funniest shows on TV, it is really good - Heroes mashed with Shameless.

Dead Meat, Being Human are also very good.

And of course Midsummer Murders - which is like a really shit, cheap wine and is strangely addictive.

Can't think of anything out there now' date=' seems to be mostly soaps. In the last year I'd say only Good Cop was alright, but I think the problem is I watch too much American tv. When you've just finished watching season seven of The Shield and then put a British cop show like Scott and Bailey on it's just such a massive decline in quality that you can't even be arsed.[/quote']

I think Scott and Bailey is ace and very English too. The female perspective is good.

I read an interview with Dominic West on the Wire and he was saying that it is difficult to replicate what they do in the US because they have a team of writers, whereas we are pretty much dependant upon one or two per show. And still - we only get the good stuff.

If Friends got stale - you brought in another team of writers, there was a programme on the Simpsons and they showed the team rehearsing around a massive table with about 20 odd people - most of whom where the writers!

The quality of British tv is something that you can be very proud of. It is without equal in the English speaking world.

I wouldn't watch tv at all if it wasn't for the superb drama, documentaries and comedies from Britain.

Brits...take a bow.

Also see if u can find that sky 1 drama, the runaway from a martina cole book. Fucking boss

Not bad actually. A bit cliched in places but it was enjoyable.

The wife has all the Martina Cole books and was given a few of the DVDs for Christmas. Think we're watching The Take tonight.

Thought Ashes To Ashes was better than Life on Mars myself..

however Silk is really good for court room drama

That is crazy talk. Life on Mars was superb television (series 1 better than series 2). However, Ashes was turd. It was poorly written, acted and directed. Absolute shit
