  1. Blue Horseshoe loves Annacot Steel
  2. If we could adequately replace him I would sell him. However, we cant attract the players with his talent, so no amount of money for him will help us. We need to get back into the top 4 to attract players of his calibre and he is our only hope of getting that imo. We will be going around in circles if we sell. I'd make public the price is set at 100m, end of. I'd threaten him with a fine of two weeks ages if he discusses leaving anymore. I'd privately sit him down and explain our need for getting back into the top 4. I'd promise him he'll be sold next year once he gets us back into top 4. It's World Cup year so he'll give his all for one season and then he can go.
  3. His new song should be, He drives me crazy by the fine young cannibals. He's a Legend!
  4. I really liked The Take although it's probably over 5 years since I watched it. I thought it was better than the runaway. Anyone ever watch nighty night? I used to love that. Peep show and the thick of it are brilliant imo.
  5. A simple game is made complicated by idiots trying to reinvent the wheel. I thought Rodgers came across as a man that could make the big decisions but it seems maybe he can't. Gerrard as a deep lying CM is killing us time and time again. He either plays in the front 3 or plays as the most advanced CM with no tracking back responsibilities. Henderson would be fine playing in the deep role with Allen. He could do the donkey work and he's well suited to just playing the simple passes and allow Allen play the more varied passes. Why have we no forward option on the bench? We don't need Coates and Carra on the bench. If Bren had some balls he'd drop Gerrard or play him more advanced and he'd also ditch Carra and give Coates some time on the pitch instead. I also get so annoyed when I see Gerrard heading off to take yet another shit corner. He is the man I want to see on the edge of the box ready to shoot or in the box looking for a header. Gerrard needs to do what he does best and that's score goals. We need additions to the squad but we could still put out a strong team that should win games. A front 3 of Sterling, Suarez and Gerrard and a mid of Allen, Henderson/Shelvey, Suso/Sahin will score and create goals. We just need to utilise their strengths. I am wondering whether Brendan is purposely not having another striker on the bench to prove to the owners how badly we need reinforcements.
  6. This is getting ridiculous. So called fans slating our new manger before we have played a game. The fact is Carroll is not worth 35m and never will be. When you think of the quality of player that goes for that amount you expect him to be similar. He is technically poor, has no pace and I don't give a fuck that 1 game in 20 he is a beast of a player. For half that money he should be a beast at least 10 out of 20 games. He was shite last season and didn't put a shift in either until the end of the season before the Euros. I can't defend a player that does that. Don't give me he wasn't fit bullshit because you don't have to be fit to put in the effort. He was instrumental in getting Kenny sacked with his sub par showings on the pitch. Downing and him are a disgrace to the shirt with their lack of effort and let Kenny down. At least Henderson put a shift in and looks like making an effort even if he is currently scared of the ball. Adam (as much as I hate him) at least looked for the ball and tried to make things happen. If the manger doesn't want this dross and doesn't see them fitting into his plans then we should just respect that decision and move on. It is not his fault the previous setup paid ridiculous fees and wages on players, it is just his responsibility to get the best deal he can when selling them. Personally I am interested in seeing can AC continue his form but if he is not in BR's plans then fuck it. I for one won't care if he goes to another club and starts banging them in as they won't be playing the same style of football so it won't mean he would have been doing the same for us. If BR sells outright then we will get a better price for him than selling him in a years time after him being on the bench and not wanted by the manager. If he goes on loan then at least playing for a team that gets the best out of him may mean his value will rise again. Our last few seasons of buying shite for inflated prices and wages has set this club back years and it is up to BR to fix this mess. Let's just see what he can do. I am not happy about spending 10m on Dempsey but if it happens so be it. I can't see it being in our top 20 worst transfers when the time comes to assessing it.
  7. The lad I read on Twitter says we are only actively chasing Dempsey at the moment. He seems reliable and says he has an insider but only hears about things when they are into finishing a deal. He has said that Carroll and to a lesser extent Downing are for sale it seems. It is not that Rodgers wants to necessarily get rid but in order to buy he needs to sell/reduce the wage bill. Adam could go too if someone was after him but he has not said that for certain. We have not made any moves for Allen or Walcott yet. He seems to think that Walcott and Ramirez were Kenny's targets only. We'll see what happens I suppose, I just hate waiting.
  8. I've been living in Bangkok for a while and know a few people that sell shirts on line. I can ask about them and check out the quality if anyone wants or even check a few places out myself. Let me know.
  9. There has been a lot of negativity on this forum of late and this has created a nasty atmosphere. I am slightly excited and optimistic about the future direction of the club. I believe that we have intelligent owners that are going to introduce a new way of bringing this club forward. I believe we will go into next season without the massive weight of expectation and be seen as underdogs and left to just get on with getting this club back to where it belongs. I think the manager's name may not inspire most but that that role won't be as important in the overall structure. The manager may end up being Martinez or Rodgers but with names such as LVG, Clarke, Segura, Borrell and hopefully Paco around them the structure will bring us forward and a stable base will be formed for the future. Anyone else opimistic or will this thread end up doomed? :wallbutt:
  10. Fsg know they are not experts in football. If anyone actually thinks they are not being advised by someone in the know then you're an idiot. This is not some toy to play with they are here to be successful and make a decent return for their investment. The fact that the papers haven't a clue is refreshing. Let's just hope things are announced soon. I reckon we will be pleased with the outcome after reading some of the possible alternatives mentioned.
  11. I was at this and got to see the players and my mate was talking to the lad who was doing the interviewing. The LFC.tv lad didn't have a clue who was going to be manager according to my mate. Barnes was going mental with the lack of organisation by the Thais which was funny to see. I asked Fowler who he thought would be the next manager and he said he didn't have a clue (not that he would have told me anything anyway). Liverpool lost all three matches but it was great to see them. Barnes was so overweight and Dicks couldn't even speed walk. Babb missed a 1 yard sitter. Fowler was immense. He's still not lost the ability to finish a chance.
  12. Not even her real kid. I went for this audition but didn't get the call back as I was over 30. Got to suck on her titty though!
  13. Unlucky by Downing. So close to being the perfect pen. On a lighter note Ray Wilkins has just informed us all that John Terry wears the longest studs on the planet. Good to know.
  14. Top managers are a rare breed and they do have an impact on teams but I doubt we can get one. Personally I'd rather we found world class scouts and coaches with a manager that was flexible and willing to work with them and not take too much control and have one philosophy/tactic with no plan b. With great scouts attracting the best young players and great coaches showing them what to do then the manager mainly needs to be flexible with his tactics and be motivational to the players. I see a manager has needing to be able to admit he is fallible and open to change. I'm tired of our managers sticking with a failed approach/players to the detriment of our team.
  15. I am trying to work on a one plane swing. At the moment it is just hard to get it together but I'm hoping it will all work out eventually. I like watching Jeff Ritter on Youtube and also the Rotary Swing guy on the net too. I have the following huge problems: Posture: when I hit several poor shots I start to question my posture in my lower back and also how my arms hang. Should they be loose from the body are tight near the chest? Starting backswing: I read about starting it and keep changing how I start it between using my right shoulder, right arm and left arm. I just can't get it right. I swing too far back also so don't get much power and end up hitting the ball very high also. All very frustrating.
  16. I support Liverpool players too but I am not confident in their ability and wouldn't back them to do it, just hope they do. I certainly wouldn't be slagging off other players when ours are doing no better, past player or not. This thread (and every other that slates other teams and other players) makes me wince. We have our own problems so why do people feel we need to slag off others when I see our problems as being worse. The Arsenal thread is another that comes to mind when people were slating that Arsenal fan on here about how shit his team were and we were so much better. Others were writing off Newcastle too. We should really wait till the end of the season to start threads about others and just focus on our own team until.
  17. Would you back Carroll to do the same? I wouldn't. In fact I would probably only back around four players from our whole squad to do it. Maxi, Bellamy, Gerrard and Suarez. Most of them wouldn't even hit the target.
  18. He will never be sacked. He will leave "by mutual consent". There will be no malice in it. The owners would never be stupid to just fuck him off. He will remain at the club in another role if he so wishes. He said he was here till when he was needed. He will always be needed but maybe not as manager anymore.
  19. Can anyone see Kenny winning the league in the next 5 years? I don't think we have a hope of winning the league so we really have fallen from where we once were. If Kenny can't win the league then there is not really anything better he can achieve if he wins a cup double this season. It is the perfect way to go out. Staying on will lead to the inevitable hounding out on a large scale and he doesn't deserve that. We need a rebuild and it will take many years to achieve. The first priority is to get back into the top 4 and then move on from there.
  20. I'd say the same time Comolli was shown the door Kenny was told that he will have a different role next season as an ambassador and that they have their own man coming in this summer. Kenny winning a cup double will be a fabulous send off as manager and then we start from scratch and build a top squad. The other option is too depressing to contemplate. I've had enough of the same shite i'm being served week in week out.
  21. Why are Arsenal deemed to be crap? People were laughing at them at the start of the season but it is them that look foolish now. Van Persie may have carried them in many games with his goals but the rest have also contributed a lot. Their keeper has been much improved and they have done well considering their defence has had to deal with a lot of injuries throughout. People like Walcott and Rosicky have played well and would walk into our team as Kuyt/Henderson and Downing have offered fuck all for us. As Lucas and Gerrard have been injured for most of this season any of their central midfielders would stroll into our team. Arsenal have done what good teams do and that is win games, we are the ones that are shite. People need to take their heads out of the sand and look closer to home. Stop defending our team and just admit what they are. The majority of them are over paid limited players that are not good enough. Couple that with a manger that does not seem to get the best out of what little talent they possess and we are what we are. People laugh at Everton for being bitter etc but I am tired of hearing the same old we were unlucky, their keeper had the game of his life and the ref had a shocker. Our team and manger are the problem and we the majority of our fans are deluded and bitter. Sad times are upon us and changes need to be made.
  22. Regardless of whether he becomes good enough or not the fee was just madness. 35m has to buy you guaranteed quality, especially when you factor in we are not Man City that can take him becoming a poor signing and that we were replacing a 20+ goal player in Torres. In my mind anything over 30m has to be proven quality (and we will play to their strengths and build a team around) so the only risk is him settling in. Anything over 20m again has to be an excellent player with the right temperament so settling in is the only worry.Anything over 15m has to either raw talent (has a position that we use him in and we need him for and is bedded in slowly in that position) or a player that is excellent but may be over 26 but can go straight into the team and do a job. I don't think any of our big signings fit into this and this is really just basic common sense. Many people voiced their concerns about these players so in my mind Kenny has to go because of this and our league form. There just can't be any excuses for this shit. Love only goes so far, when it's not right. it's not right. I love the man but he is no longer the man to be manager and all his signings can go with him bar Enrique and Belllamy. Henderson if played in CM sporadically can stay also.
  23. They should literally have to stay on after training for shooting practice against Doni and Brad. Not one player leaves until every player has scored 100 goals from inside the box. Every off target shot means you start again. Disgraceful that they can't find the net. I don't see why everyone is giving Johnson shit. Mistakes are made by defenders every game, the attacking players made hundreds of mistakes today and that is why we lost, not the one mistake by the defender or poor positioning by Reina. The match should have been out of site at that stage and the mistake merely a consolation.
