  1. Blue Horseshoe loves Annacot Steel
  2. If we could adequately replace him I would sell him. However, we cant attract the players with his talent, so no amount of money for him will help us. We need to get back into the top 4 to attract players of his calibre and he is our only hope of getting that imo. We will be going around in circles if we sell. I'd make public the price is set at 100m, end of. I'd threaten him with a fine of two weeks ages if he discusses leaving anymore. I'd privately sit him down and explain our need for getting back into the top 4. I'd promise him he'll be sold next year once he gets us back into top 4. It's World Cup year so he'll give his all for one season and then he can go.
  3. His new song should be, He drives me crazy by the fine young cannibals. He's a Legend!
  4. I really liked The Take although it's probably over 5 years since I watched it. I thought it was better than the runaway. Anyone ever watch nighty night? I used to love that. Peep show and the thick of it are brilliant imo.
  5. A simple game is made complicated by idiots trying to reinvent the wheel. I thought Rodgers came across as a man that could make the big decisions but it seems maybe he can't. Gerrard as a deep lying CM is killing us time and time again. He either plays in the front 3 or plays as the most advanced CM with no tracking back responsibilities. Henderson would be fine playing in the deep role with Allen. He could do the donkey work and he's well suited to just playing the simple passes and allow Allen play the more varied passes. Why have we no forward option on the bench? We don't need Coates and Carra on the bench. If Bren had some balls he'd drop Gerrard or play him more advanced and he'd also ditch Carra and give Coates some time on the pitch instead. I also get so annoyed when I see Gerrard heading off to take yet another shit corner. He is the man I want to see on the edge of the box ready to shoot or in the box looking for a header. Gerrard needs to do what he does best and that's score goals. We need additions to the squad but we could still put out a strong team that should win games. A front 3 of Sterling, Suarez and Gerrard and a mid of Allen, Henderson/Shelvey, Suso/Sahin will score and create goals. We just need to utilise their strengths. I am wondering whether Brendan is purposely not having another striker on the bench to prove to the owners how badly we need reinforcements.
  6. This is getting ridiculous. So called fans slating our new manger before we have played a game. The fact is Carroll is not worth 35m and never will be. When you think of the quality of player that goes for that amount you expect him to be similar. He is technically poor, has no pace and I don't give a fuck that 1 game in 20 he is a beast of a player. For half that money he should be a beast at least 10 out of 20 games. He was shite last season and didn't put a shift in either until the end of the season before the Euros. I can't defend a player that does that. Don't give me he wasn't fit bullshit because you don't have to be fit to put in the effort. He was instrumental in getting Kenny sacked with his sub par showings on the pitch. Downing and him are a disgrace to the shirt with their lack of effort and let Kenny down. At least Henderson put a shift in and looks like making an effort even if he is currently scared of the ball. Adam (as much as I hate him) at least looked for the ball and tried to make things happen. If the manger doesn't want this dross and doesn't see them fitting into his plans then we should just respect that decision and move on. It is not his fault the previous setup paid ridiculous fees and wages on players, it is just his responsibility to get the best deal he can when selling them. Personally I am interested in seeing can AC continue his form but if he is not in BR's plans then fuck it. I for one won't care if he goes to another club and starts banging them in as they won't be playing the same style of football so it won't mean he would have been doing the same for us. If BR sells outright then we will get a better price for him than selling him in a years time after him being on the bench and not wanted by the manager. If he goes on loan then at least playing for a team that gets the best out of him may mean his value will rise again. Our last few seasons of buying shite for inflated prices and wages has set this club back years and it is up to BR to fix this mess. Let's just see what he can do. I am not happy about spending 10m on Dempsey but if it happens so be it. I can't see it being in our top 20 worst transfers when the time comes to assessing it.
  7. The lad I read on Twitter says we are only actively chasing Dempsey at the moment. He seems reliable and says he has an insider but only hears about things when they are into finishing a deal. He has said that Carroll and to a lesser extent Downing are for sale it seems. It is not that Rodgers wants to necessarily get rid but in order to buy he needs to sell/reduce the wage bill. Adam could go too if someone was after him but he has not said that for certain. We have not made any moves for Allen or Walcott yet. He seems to think that Walcott and Ramirez were Kenny's targets only. We'll see what happens I suppose, I just hate waiting.
  8. I've been living in Bangkok for a while and know a few people that sell shirts on line. I can ask about them and check out the quality if anyone wants or even check a few places out myself. Let me know.
  9. There has been a lot of negativity on this forum of late and this has created a nasty atmosphere. I am slightly excited and optimistic about the future direction of the club. I believe that we have intelligent owners that are going to introduce a new way of bringing this club forward. I believe we will go into next season without the massive weight of expectation and be seen as underdogs and left to just get on with getting this club back to where it belongs. I think the manager's name may not inspire most but that that role won't be as important in the overall structure. The manager may end up being Martinez or Rodgers but with names such as LVG, Clarke, Segura, Borrell and hopefully Paco around them the structure will bring us forward and a stable base will be formed for the future. Anyone else opimistic or will this thread end up doomed? :wallbutt:
  10. Fsg know they are not experts in football. If anyone actually thinks they are not being advised by someone in the know then you're an idiot. This is not some toy to play with they are here to be successful and make a decent return for their investment. The fact that the papers haven't a clue is refreshing. Let's just hope things are announced soon. I reckon we will be pleased with the outcome after reading some of the possible alternatives mentioned.
  11. I was at this and got to see the players and my mate was talking to the lad who was doing the interviewing. The LFC.tv lad didn't have a clue who was going to be manager according to my mate. Barnes was going mental with the lack of organisation by the Thais which was funny to see. I asked Fowler who he thought would be the next manager and he said he didn't have a clue (not that he would have told me anything anyway). Liverpool lost all three matches but it was great to see them. Barnes was so overweight and Dicks couldn't even speed walk. Babb missed a 1 yard sitter. Fowler was immense. He's still not lost the ability to finish a chance.
  12. Not even her real kid. I went for this audition but didn't get the call back as I was over 30. Got to suck on her titty though!
  13. Unlucky by Downing. So close to being the perfect pen. On a lighter note Ray Wilkins has just informed us all that John Terry wears the longest studs on the planet. Good to know.
  14. Top managers are a rare breed and they do have an impact on teams but I doubt we can get one. Personally I'd rather we found world class scouts and coaches with a manager that was flexible and willing to work with them and not take too much control and have one philosophy/tactic with no plan b. With great scouts attracting the best young players and great coaches showing them what to do then the manager mainly needs to be flexible with his tactics and be motivational to the players. I see a manager has needing to be able to admit he is fallible and open to change. I'm tired of our managers sticking with a failed approach/players to the detriment of our team.
