Coates should be ahead of both Wisdom and Carra though with that looking like a 3-5-2

No sure I agree.

 

Wisdom is perfect for the right sided centre back role. Then we have Agger for the left sided one.

 

So you need one of Carragher or Coates central. Coates was at fault for a goal mid week and given the central role will involve little running and more organising and basic defending - I think it is right Carragher got the nod.

 

If we were playing Stoke and a more direct team and needed Coates strength in the air, then I'm sure he would have been selected ahead of Carragher, like he was vs Everton.

Oh okay, I thought it must have been due to something like that.

 

Im not convinced of Coates, haven't got much of an opinion on him other than I feel his lack of pace could be a problem. But I do know that Carra being on the team sheet worries me every time. Especially with Mata etc playing and Carra playing on Thursday.

personally think Coates is a top prospect and he will be ace in a few years time, Carra although he has been okay in the minor games he has played so far this season was god awful in most league games last season and I think Wisdom has done brilliantly mostly but has dropped off a bit last couple of league games

Strange one this today. Could quite easily see us winning, yet also wouldn't be surprised to see us trounced 3 or 4 nil. If we don't score first we haven't a hope.

 

Feeling the same, specially Rodgers kamikaze defending, push the back line high leaving no one in are half of pitch but the goalie; Chelsea only need to lift the ball.... with Torres having pace, he'll have easy open run at goal, we could very well get trounced.
