For what it's worth, I was around the 14 and a half stone mark for about a decade until I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes at the end of May last year. It fucking terrified me even though I knew I had been showing the symptoms for a while. After the initial shock of it all and being put on pills I did a bit of research.I went on the "Newcastle diet". Not for everyone obviously, but the tablets were making me ill and essentially I had nothing to lose.I managed the diet for 4 weeks(supposed to be 8) although I was exercising twice a day for that month. I lost 3 and a half stone in that time. My glucose levels are in the normal range now after my last test, despite my G.P telling me I had one of the highest readings he has ever seen at diagnosis. It may not last but, dont let anyone tell you you cant make a difference.I have never felt more healthy.
