Knocked Off Your Fucking Perch

Not accepting the situation is not going to help. What Ferguson has done is amazing and there is nothing we can do to erase the last 20 years of their dominance, just as this spell doesn't erase ours. All we can do is look to the future and build, which is what we are doing. They are still the team to beat.

Fuck Man Utd, fuck Ferguson and fuck the perch. If we still found ourselves in the position we were in back in August i'd be truely depressed but we're not. I've never been more optimistic that our fortunes are going to change. Onwards and upwards.

Exactly, the future has gone from a dull poo colour to bright sunshine. New owners, proper manager and a healthy flow of young players. Fantastic!

European cups are worth at least three leagues, but the point still remains that we've 'let' them catch and overtake our leagues. Watching it over the last 20+ years has been a real pain in the metaphorical cunt.

Still, something feels right about the new ownership and the old/new management. We've got no reason to look back anymore. Congratulations to the Mancs, they've been excellent in the league over the past 15-20 years, and I really respect their on-the-field accomplishments.

That said... don't get comfy on that fucking perch, because we're going to be looking to do some knocking of our own.

19+4 =23

18+5 =23

So if they beat Barcelona and win the European Cup they will join us on our perch. Not beat us. Manc cunts

Even if they win 2 this year they'll still trail us in terms of major trophies. One of their clown fans was on the radio boasting about the perch the other day. It was pointed out to him that even if they win at Wembley they still trail us as European Champions.

He said "No we don't, we've won more Champions Leagues".

If you're going to compare trophies, you should compare them all.

Us

League: 18

European Cup: 5

Uefa Cup: 3

FA Cup: 7

League Cup: 7

TOTAL: 40

Them

League: 18

European Cup: 3

European Cup Winners Cup: 1

Fa Cup: 11

League Cup: 4

TOTAL: 37 (of which Ferguson has won 23)

Christ. And I was accusing people of acting like bitter Evertonians on here the other day. I need to lay off the ale.

He hasn't knocked us off our perch, the damage was self inflicted.

They wouldn't have won anywhere near as much as they have if we'd built on what we had.

The worst thing has been the complete lack of cashing in on our global fan base for the last 10 years. Especially in 2005 when as Champions of Europe the merchandising was woeful.

Times are good now.

10 years? Nearer 50 years. The Mancs were selling anything they could with their name on even when they were in the 2nd Division. At the same time we had a Chairman who was changing 100w light bulbs for 60w to save cash.
