I rewatched it today. A brilliant episode, from a brilliant season. I think, despite the increased pace, most people have this as their best season ever. I think I probably do too.

 

Oh, and the sneak peak of the finale looks great.

I'm now also convinced that Dany will die at some point. Although even at this late stage, it's really tough to work out where it is heading overall.

A great episode. I hope the whole White Walker/Wights thing comes to an end next episode so next season we can focus on the iron throne and the scheming that comes with all that.

 

There's a few things that I think could become important.

 

I think Jon and the Night King have some sort of connection or that the Night King has some sort of importance from the past because it showed him very briefly in an earlier episode and GOT tends to go back to seemingly insignificant moments that you forget about but come back important. It didn't really need to show it happening unless it becomes important. I think Sam will find out in one of his books who his real identity is and Sam will be hugely important in winning this battle.

 

The knife that Bran gave Arya and she subsequently gave to Sansa is going to either kill Little Finger or save Arya's life and Bran seen that she would need it and that's why he gave it to her.

 

Jon and Dany will marry and have a child because twice today she mentioned she can't have any children, I could have just forgotten but I can't ever remember that being mentioned before.

 

Cersai will die before she has her child or die in childbirth because the witch told her she would only have 3 children and they will and have all die.

 

Jamie will finally realise how much of a cunt Cersai is and maybe the one who kills her and him and Bronn find Tyrion and join forces.

 

I also think we'll lose a few fan favourites in the finale, fuck knows who but they'll be loads of deaths.

I reckon they fall in love, she gets killed by Cersai and co possibly after defeating the knight king.. Jon loses it and takes the iron throne with the dragons who will be loyal to him.

I enjoyed the latest episode, there were some brilliant moments but too many moments of "convenience" also which is quite un-GOT like, until recently anyway. And I don't think the rushed pace did it many favours, this week it was particularly noticeable.

The most brilliant moment of course was the very last second. An absolutely beautiful shot which although expected by that point still took my breath away.

Hands down the greatest tv show of all time.  We'll be very lucky if better ever comes along.   Glad I waited for it in glorious HD and managed to avoid spoilers.

Few of the scenes beyond the wall were still a little confusing.  People appeared to die numerous times but everyone we know was still there.

It is possible I'd say, it used to take characters about three seasons to get from one place to another and now they're getting there within an episode so fuck knows what the actual timeframe is within these episodes. It's a bit all over the place.

 

I can definitely see Dany being a is she isn't she dead scenario at the end of the finale, which like you say is possible that she dies, I can see a big big character going the end of this season.

The fast pace of the episodes is not just a problem due to the distances they're covering, there's also some plot holes being glossed over.

For example, what's going on with Arya and Sansa at the moment? Their current behaviour, Arya's in particular unfortunately, is at odds with the character so I think can only be explained with a nice tidy bow in one of the next episodes. Which would be a shame as everyone has invested so much time in them up to this point.
