I always think people will look like their avatar (not that I look like Jack Nicholson) so Pistonbroke's picture has come as something of a shock.

Had a reunion in Bielefeld with a load of people who I served with in the 80's, one lad flew in from Oklahoma, that's fucking impressive. 7:30am I staggered home, missus was a bit pissed off but hey ho. Out again in 2 hours, although she'Äs coming along with other wives, just as well we let our grey hair down last night. Suffering like fuck atm like.

Sat with the George Clooney lookalike. I'm the good looking bastard with the blue T-shirt on.

Nobody has found themselves in a position, where natural drunken sleep, has just kind of stopped?

Alcohol is a stimulant.  When you are pissed, you are more passed out than asleep.

You're "asleep" but bits of your physicality are still stimulated and stimulating, fighting against the "sleep".

My psychologist suggested to me that sleeping pills act in a similar fashion - putting you to sleep, but not really.  Her view is that it's a reasonably insidious intention to hook people on them.
