European Cup Final: Internazionale vs Abu Dhabi Oilers (Atatūrk Stadium, Instanbul, June 10, 8pm)

Just got the local news on. It seems silly to be taking the mick when they’ve just won the treble. But, fuck me, their “parade” is utterly pathetic. The reporter spoke of a “sea of blue” and the camera then panned to people behind the barrier. Not even one deep in parts, with visible gaps. Then there was an overhead helicopter camera shot, which was on the screen for about a second as the low turnout became even more apparent and the picture was cut. Literally all of the noise being generated by an overly loud PA system too.

Absolutely desperate scenes.

Dunno if I've been shielding from all this at all but you wouldn't know they'd just won a treble. Feels like yesterday's news already.

I think Guardiola has a legitimate point when he talks about people's negative attitude of city and not caring if they do well, but I don't think it's a conspiracy,  they're just a shite club. A dirty, boring club with no magic or mystique whatsoever. It's like watching Ed Shearon and his synthesising foot pedal bollocks win a Britt.

Arguably, even their own supporters are pissed off or embarrassed by the level of cheating they are involved in.

Good on ITV News for not buying into the sportswashing. They’re covering it but their reporting has already mentioned the words “asterisk” and “cheating.”

Charlene White even directly asked City “legend” Paul Dickov if the treble was undermined and cheapened in any way by the Premier League’s charges against City.

I like "is this the best city team of all time?"

Well there's some stiff competition.

Regarding the financial irregularities, which Charlene White brought up, Dickov gave the stock answer that since the accusations were levelled, it’s promoted a “siege mentality”, it’s nothing to do with the players, it’s all off field stuff and shouldn’t detract from the achievement of the treble.

Yawn.

The anchor in the studio has gone from saying “ thousands of Man City fans” to “ tens of thousands”.

Maybe she’s had a message from the Abu Dhabi PR machine?

The ship canal looks radiant tonight, you could almost mistake it for the Adraitic...

Truly wonderful how they all managed to be in exactly the same places as when he posted it after the FA Cup win. That’s what you call loyalty and commitment.
