Two days in a row of over 7k new cases in UK on the Hopkins site. Never happened in the first wave that.

Consecutive days over 70 deaths - last time that happened was end of June.

That's actually quite a bit more positive in terms of outlook than I thought it would be. Getting a working vaccine out within a year- which they seem pretty hopeful about- is a hell of an achievement. Life approaching 'normality'- bar masks- by the end of next year is far better than I'd imagined-. Biden getting all the credit for a smooth vaccine rollout in the US and the gradual eradication of the disease would be hilarious too.
