I would rather play Roma over 2 legs than a one off final. They seem to come out better against us in pre season one off games whereas I would back us to beat anyone over 2 legs right now. Of all the teams currently left in I would rather play Bayern in a final

Before the draw for the quarter final everybody wanted us to play away first 2^nd game at home. Against ManCity maybe playing at home first was an advantage.

It’s just a gut feeling, but I’d like us to play 2^nd game at Anfield if up against Roma or BMunich, but play at home first if we’re drawn against Real Madrid.

Back in 2001 when me and my uncle were talking about the uefa cup I was disappointed that we drew Barca in the semis instead of an easier team.

 

His response was that we're better off playing them in the semis because with anfield behind us we can potentially beat anybody. Barca in the final would probably be more difficult.

And there's no guarantee that we'd make it to the final anyway so it's good for the players to get some experience playing top teams, then use that to take us forward in the future.

 

Turn out he was right.

 

So give me Real Madrid, then I fancy us in the final against whoever is left.
